Weekend in Paridise

And so I pass another weekend essentially hiding from everything political in order to keep from losing my mind and dragging my wife along with me.

I check the news this morning to confirm that Louis Farrakhan is still certifiably insane. I can only imagine the media’s screeching if a prominent white Christian claimed to be taken aboard the mother ship. Good gravy…

Iraq is another step closer to real democracy and still the mainstream media criticizes and throws stink bombs from the sideline. It must suck being part of a movement that has placed itself in a position of such utter desperation. Imagine being critical of the biggest human success story in recent years bought and paid for with the blood and sacrifice of our brave countrymen. I believe it’s time for a hangin…

People are culling poultry en masse around the world and we’re forced to hear about it partly because of avian flu concerns and partly because the MSM has no abducted child story. It’s also worth mentioning that dead Pakistanis don’t seem to do much for Nielson ratings.

Chinamen are in space. I wonder where they got the rocket technology to do that?

The city of Pittsburgh mopes through another Monday as their precious Steelers suffer an unsightly demise at the hand of the Jacksonville Jaguars in overtime. I am the lone smiling face in a sea of black and gold mourning as my Cowboys beat old blue in overtime. Life is good when Big D sits alone atop the NFC East. Next week, Seattle and their #1 ranked offense.

Tonight I think I’ll go home, throw something savory in the crockpot and stack the rest of our firewood. Then I may go inside and clean guns, not because I plan to shoot them, but just because I believe I’d like to touch them. Then I think I’ll be “ready for some football”.

God I hate the Democrats…

Filthiness Unite

A quick note to Senators Kennedy, Durbin, Kerry, the bias news media, and the moonbat anti-war protestors. Keep up the good work, your allies stand hopeful and willing to seize opportunity should you happen to succeed in your endeavor. So beat that anti-war drum and continue to spout on about violence in Iraq while neglecting to cover the continued successful efforts of our troops. The filthy murdering cutthroats of the world stand with you. Push for troop withdrawal and humane treatment of lawless Islamic pigs.

In a letter to his top deputy in Iraq, al-Qaida's No. 2 leader said the United States "ran and left their agents" in Vietnam and the jihadists must have a plan ready to fill the void if the Americans suddenly leave Iraq.

"Things may develop faster than we imagine," Ayman al-Zawahri wrote in a letter to his top deputy in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. "The aftermath of the collapse of American power in Vietnam _ and how they ran and left their agents is noteworthy. ... We must be ready starting now."

"More than half of this battle is taking place in the battlefield of the media," he wrote. "We are in a media battle in a race for the hearts and minds of our umma," or community of Muslims, he wrote.

The line is an apparent reference to a phrase "hearts and minds" _ often used by President Bush.

This proves my point that we are fighting a war with two enemies on two fronts. Something needs to be done about the terrorists in our government and those broadcasting over our airwaves. They have the blood of our servicemen on their hands and the support of our enemies abroad.

Miss October is a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle

Pure American blue-collar muscle. In my book she is queen of cars.

Send pics of the special "ladies" in your life. I'll post my favorite each month.

If I Were Prez

I have to admit that I’m more than a little disappointed in The President’s nomination of Harriet Miers to the SCOTUS. I’d love to adopt a wait and see policy but I just can’t bring myself to think that way. This is just too important. Once again, Republican leadership has backed away from adversity. I was promised Scalia and I got an enigma. Mr. President, I don’t want to have to trust you on this. I want a sure bet. I want you to do what you said you would do if I voted for you. I want a conservative constitutional purist. I’m sick and tired of hearing about “balance on the court” and “the swing vote”. The Supreme Court has one purpose, to uphold the Constitution. It has nothing to do with balance and swing votes.

In light of my pure disappointment and near resentment, I’m going to throw my hands up in the air and get downright belligerent and satirical. The President’s apprehension when faced with the proposition of all out war with the whininess and self aggrandizement that is the United States Senate has driven me to new heights.

Coulter for SCOTUS!!!

She stands with me on what I consider the most important issues of our time. Let’s do a comparison on the issues, shall we?

War on terror

Coulter:

“We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war.”

Miers:

???

Abortion

Coulter:

"On account of policies promoted by Democrats, you can't 'choose' how to spend almost fully one half of your own money, or whom you will employ or do business with, or to whom you may rent your extra bedroom, or how many peanuts you may grow, or what school your children will attend, or how many gallons of water you can have in your toilet, or what to do with your land if there's a puddle on it and it is designated a federal 'wetland.' The one narrow aspect of your life you may 'choose' is whether to rip a little baby apart. Orwell couldn't have done better, though he might have titled abortion mills 'Ministries of Love.'"

Miers:

???

Border security

Coulter:

“To be sure, there is a risk that mass deportations might upset the delicate diplomatic maneuvering designed to bring the largest possible number of unsavory regimes into our 'international coalition.' On the other hand, some countries in the 'international coalition' might be forced to conclude that the Great Satan is smarter than they thought. This part of the plan ought to appeal to their primitive sense of honor and boundaries.”

Miers:

???

Constitutional integrity

Coulter:

"What passes for "constitutional law" can be fairly summarized as: Heads we win, tails you lose. The only limit on liberal insanity in this country is how many issues liberals can get before a court."

“The basic idea behind the Constitution is that politicians are bad. Political power would be diversified so that ambition would counter ambition, and the country wouldn't end up with a Pol Pot, Stalin, Idi Amin, Castro, Hitler, or one of the many other charming heads of state to have graced this century's history. As one of my friends said after coming with me to tape the 'Leeza' show (a show with lively audience participation): The framers of the Constitution were a lot smarter than the average American today, and we really shouldn't be fiddling with the document that allows a bunch of undeserving lunkheads to continue living in freedom more than 200 years later.”

“Anyone's snit can now be decided by the Supreme Court. Our ‘evolving Constitution’ has evolved from a constitution to abortion trimesters to the ‘fundamentals’ of golf.”

Miers:

???

She’s never been a judge but she is a woman, and a lawyer to boot. According to modern popular political consensus, she’s a shoo-in.
