A Few Moments Alone

Liars abide liars
Race, compassion, bastard dollars
Privilege begets authority
Ascendancy begets corruption

Swine sustaining the slop
Bearing down on filth
Reinvent the façade
Manipulate the impaired
To taint the truth

I stand
More than man above these boots
Forged longer and stronger
Embrace my abhorrence
Refuse to renounce

A few moments alone
From the flesh of my hands
Vehement intentions
Your stark final image
My pristine freedom

Wind

Howl, moan, in mysterious despair
a voice? a question? beckon below
do you wake? do I disturb?
I can taste you vulnerable
you are all alone some time

Creak, protest of blessed shelter
can I find a grip? pry pull and fling
what fear can I provoke?
arise from peaceful warm quiet cotton
to perch upon jagged cold crag of naked blue alone

Lashing, whistle through brittle wood fingers
silent, placid - alarm bell, scream
devil's phone call, tragic, wrong turn death
nail bomb scream on evening news
lick, pinch, hiss, darkness and smell of burnt wax

Frost exhale of everything unalive
scratch and scrawl, long to get in
groping, gnawing to chill from inside
Hell is a frozen place
Icy tears, wailing at my bedroom window
