Second Hand Science

I pulled these "facts" from the American Lung Association's website:

Secondhand smoke causes approximately 3,400 lung cancer deaths and 22,700-69,600 heart disease deaths in adult nonsmokers in the United States each year.

I guess the big question here is how on earth can they prove this? I'll answer, they can't.

A study found that nonsmokers exposed to environmental smoke were 25 percent more likely to have coronary heart diseases compared to nonsmokers not exposed to smoke.

"A study". okay... I'd be interested to compare this particular study with a study that compares smokers, non-smokers, and median incomes, and coronary heart diseases. I'll bet that low income people are more likely to have coronary heart diseases. I'll bet that there are more low income people that smoke than high income people. So it stands to reason, using the logic above, that low income causes smoking. So does low income also cause coronary heart diseases? Is it possible that there might be just a few lifestyle issues we're not considering in this study? A study can find whatever it wants. I'm going to conduct a study that shows that eating chocolate cake while lieing in a warm bath increases my life expectancy due to another study that states that high stress lowers life expectancy. More cake in the bath = less stress = I stay young FOREVER ha haahahaahaaa!!!

Nonsmokers exposed to secondhand smoke at work are at increased risk for adverse health effects. Levels of ETS in restaurants and bars were found to be 2 to 5 times higher than in residences with smokers and 2 to 6 times higher than in office workplaces.

I used to work in a lot of restaurants. No offense to anyone here that might work in a bar or restaurant but a lot of the people I worked with drank. Alot. And used drugs. And ate poorly and rarely exercised. Besides, what the hell is an adverse health effect? Stepping in front of a bus places me at risk for adverse health effects too.

This "study", listed on the website for the leading opponent of smoking in America, really says nothing about the actual effects of second hand smoke because the effects of second hand smoke are next to impossible to study. You cannot eliminate nearly enough x-factors to call a study credible. It is all guess work. Now, I agree in principle that second hand smoke CANNOT be a good thing. Besides, it's unpleasant for those who don't smoke. I just find it unbelievably irresponsible for the American Lung Association to publish rubbish like that and pretend it is fact. It is not fact, it is opinion, plain and simple. It is politically powerful opinion. It is also very bad science of which there seems to be an overabundance of in today's media. But that is a rant for another day I'm afraid. The fact remains that people who live relatively clean lifestyles die all the time. You cannot take one of those individuals and say, secondhand smoke caused the coronary heart disease that killed that person. Unless you've got another agenda. Studies are funded. People who fund studies want results and often they care about those results. The people conducting the studies understand where the money comes from. Studies will always find something.

COLMES: I want to talk about Iraq. Is there anything you want to say about this continued misunderstanding people seem to have? And you know, as you know, I've defended you on this.
But it seems like no matter how much you say it, people want to believe what they want to believe in terms of you left out one word of a bad joke.
SEN. JOHN KERRY (D-MA), FORMER PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: That's exactly what I did. I left out one word of a bad joke. Clearly, I as a combat veteran, as somebody who understands and knows what our troops are going through and respects them enormously, would never, ever directly insult our troops in any way whatsoever. And I think people knew that, because we put out the real text of what I had said. This was five days before an election. People grabbed on it to try to make a political issue out of it. And I think that's what I responded to, that it was inappropriate to do that.

Senator, YOU ARE A BALD FACED LIAR. Here are a couple of your previous quotes. Would you like to explain to the American people how they can possibly be something other than a “direct insult” to “our troops in any way whatsoever.”

“They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war..."

"The country doesn't know it yet, but it has created a monster, a monster in the form of millions of men who have been taught to deal and to trade in violence....."

The American voters put these people back in power. This is what we will have to live with. Lies, arrogance and insults to our intelligence.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Friday called U.S. President George W. Bush's defeat in congressional elections a victory for Iran.

The swine media is mostly responsible but the colossal ignorance of the American people and their refusal to pay attention to anything other than American Idol has taken us to the verge. I've been saying all along that the vast unclean in this country have had it so easy for so long that they just will not understand the threat against our livlihood until our enemy detonates a nuke in one of our cities. After this election, I can almost say that I welcome it. We deserve it.

Congratulations America... You've handed our legislative branch to a bunch of coward socialists who will tax you poor, take away your guns, invent gay marriage, use your tax dollars to help young girls vacuum babies from their wombs, and disgrace our military and our brave veterans that made the ultimate sacrifice so that you could continue to go to the polls and surrender your freedoms. Best of luck to ya...

It's time to lock and load friends. I'll be ready for the worst. While the democrats are gleefully sticking their heads in a noose, I'll be rallying around the family with a pocket full of shells. I won't forget, I won't forgive, and I won't listen.

North Korean Diplomacy

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is presently engaged in a whirlwind trip to Asia, visiting South Korea, Japan, China and Russia. The purpose for the mission is an attempt to prevent Japan and South Korea from implementing their own programs to acquire nuclear weapons. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has ruled out developing a nuclear program, but Taro Aso, Foreign Minister, claims Japan should openly discuss the possibility of possessing nukes. Speaking to reporters on her way to Japan, Secretary Rice said it is "extremely important" to affirm America's commitment to both Japan and South Korea to provide for their security. Such commitment includes the use of American nuclear weapons, if the situation warrants such action. In addition to calming fears, Secretary Rice's trip is intended to put pressure on North Korea and China to enforce economic sanctions. China's U.N. ambassador Wang Guangya stated that China would implement the resolution as far as inspections, but would not include interdiction. The U.S. intended "tough" sanctions to deal with North Korea's flagrant violation of international law and these sanctions were reduced in strength due to opposition by both China and Russia, those cozy allies of ours. North Korea equated sanctions to a declaration of war and flexed its nuclear muscle by saying it would not buckle to such pressure now that it possessed nuclear weapons. China's great fear is that the ineffective government of North Korea will topple and send hundreds of thousands of hungry refugees storming across the border into China. (No, the Mexicans are not screaming about racial discrimination. They haven't reached that part of the world, yet.) In my opinion, Secretary Rice will have to face the large hurdle of history in her efforts to ease tensions in Japan and China. It is recent history where our own government has demanded a timetable to leave Iraq, led by Democrats. America today faces the worst threat to the future of Western civilization since World War II, and I fear we will die with a whimper. We refuse to face the fact that Islamofacists want to cut our heads off and neither North Korea nor Iran will hesitate a moment to use a nuclear weapon upon either Israel or America. Liberals whine that we have to provide proper care and feeding to captured terrorists because they will not treat Americans properly as prisoners in retaliation. Hey, stupid Liberal, can you remember pictures of dead American Marines hanging from a bridge in Baghdad? I don't think they were accorded Geneva Convention rights. Or Cpl. Lynch. She was shot, abused and had broken limbs as a prisoner of war. Americans have always been faced with barbaric cruelty in time of war. The Bataan Death March will always be remembered as a barbaric atrocity. American prisoners held by the Japanese were shot, tortured, starved, dressed in rags, subjected to disease and malaria. Japanese prisoners, by contrast, were fed, clothed, provided proper shelter and allowed to follow their religious beliefs. So, the Liberal cry for providing proper care to prisoners to prevent mistreatment of American prisoners is a bunch of hooey. In fact, America has always treated prisoners correctly when our own troops have faced incredible brutality. Just ask John McCain. President Bush signed into law on Tuesday legislation authorizing military trials of terrorism suspects. The law authorizes harsh treatment of terror suspects in order to obtain information vital to American interests. As to be expected, and true to form, both Liberal Democrats and their right-hand co-conspirators in treason, the American Civil Liberties Union, wasted no time to whine about the evils of such a law. The ACLU said it was "one of the worst civil liberties measures ever enacted in American history." And that paragon of left-leaning lowbrows, Senator Russ Feingold, sobbed, "We will look back on this day as a stain on our nation's history." I believe he's confused about a stain on Lewinsky's dress... he continued, "It allows the government to seize individuals on American soil and detain them indefinitely with no opportunity to challenge their detention in court. And the new law would permit an individual to be convicted on the basis of coerced testimony and even allow someone convicted under these rules to be put to death." Horror of horrors, a terrorist might face death! Scandalous! In a realistic appraisal of the Democrat stand, House Speaker Dennis Hastert said, ""The Democratic plan would gingerly pamper the terrorists who plan to destroy innocent Americans' lives." Gee, do you THINK? It is beyond belief to me that Liberals can be so weird and nuts in their beliefs and such a large percentage of the American population agree with their lunacy. Where has common sense gone? Our refusal to treat terrorists as terrorists and our refusal to deal with rogue nations such as North Korea and Iran is nothing but one form of suicide. It is crazy not to realize that these people want to kill you and all Americans want to do is stick their heads in the sand and refuse to deal with reality. This is the same stupid attitude that gripped Western civilization when Hitler was gobbling up the world. If you are one of the misguided Conservatives out there who think you will send a message to the Republican Party by staying home this election, you better think twice. If we are so foolish as to allow Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to take control of the government, we will be left with an America that we won't care to live in. The Democrats are determined to change America into a socialist nation, and they are ruthless in their drive to succeed. North Korea is presently engaged in widespread cannibalism because they can't feed themselves, Cuba's newest vehicle is a 1952 Chevy, the Soviet Union collapsed economically as the Evil Empire, Viet Nam is a non-entity, and Chavez controls the nation of Venezuela with the iron hand of dictatorship. Socialism is a failure worldwide, it always has been and always will be. Yet, Democrats embrace socialism and refuse to be associated with capitalism, which powers the progress of the world. They want to socialize medicine, and every other facet of your life. The next time you're in the Motor Vehicle Department, think about what it would be like if it was the hospital instead. That's what socialized medicine will be like. But, that's just my opinion.

Sleazy Politics

John Negroponte, the National Intelligence Director, stated on Monday that the war in Iraq may be creating new terrorist operatives, but remarking on leaked information from an intelligence estimate, rejected claims that the US is at greater risk of attack than it was in 2001. "We are certainly more vigilant. We are better prepared. We are safer," Negroponte said. His remarks came after the weekend disclosure of a high-level National Intelligence Estimate. The released document, and wouldn't we love to know who leaked it, fueled speculation from opponents to the Iraqi war concerning how the war has affected national security at home. Negroponte claims the report deals with global terror threats in a broad range of topics and does not concentrate on just Iraq. "The Iraq jihad is shaping a new generation of terrorist leaders and operatives," he added. The Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Pat Roberts (R-Kan) says the public discussion concerning this report has given the American people the "false impression" that the National Intelligence Estimate deals exclusively with the war in Iraq. "This is not true," claims Roberts. "This NIE examines global terrorism in its totality." NIE 's embody a collective opinion from all 16 spy agencies of the US. The report is considered the voice of the American intelligence community. The New York Times first reported on Saturday that the highly classified assessment finds that the US invasion of Iraq has helped fuel a new generation of extremists and that the overall terror threat has grown since 9/11 which is counter from what President Bush claims is true. The Administration denies the media account that claims the NIE distorts the findings on global terrorism. Big mouth lout Nancy Pelosi yapped that bin Laden has not been captured, and President Bush should consider the intelligence carefully "before giving another misleading speech about progress in the war on terrorism." She and ten other dumbocrats asked House Speaker Dennis Hastert to hold hearings on the NIE's findings. President Bush today says he will declassify the NIE, and let people read for themselves the findings. That is good news. Any time the New York Times is involved with "security disclosures" you can be sure they are so eager to hang some evil on our President that they never get around to checking out the validity of the accusations. And, the Dumbocrats are so eager for the Times to be right, they follow like a bunch of lemmings. A new intelligence report claims that the war in Iraq has done nothing to reduce the terror threat to America. The Democrats are jumping all over it as proof that the Republican party is leading us down the road to destruction. For all you people who read this who are under 50 years of age, please don't be taken in by this lie. If you were alive during the Viet Nam war, you would recognize this as standard operating procedures of the Democrat party. I was in the Viet Nam conflict, and I witnessed first hand the antics by the traitorous Democrats during that war. You need to realize that the Democratic Party is not patriotic. If you look back in history, the Democrats have always sided with our enemies. People like Jane Fonda, Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin and George Clooney, who make their fortunes in make-believe, somehow think they have the ability to dictate their goofy beliefs to the rest of us in the real world. As for the Democrats themselves, I have a picture of John Kerry making a speech standing in front of a North Vietnamese flag. His picture also hangs in Hanoi as a North Vietnamese hero. If you watched Fox News Sunday morning, September 24, 2006, you witnessed a Liberal Democrat in action. Clinton accused Fox News of a smear attack for asking a legitimate question about his failure to capture Osama bin Laden. Clinton flew into a rage and accused the "radical right" of accusing him falsely. Howard Dean blasts accusations that Democrats need to be more forceful about the truth. Neither Dean nor Clinton would know the truth if it hit them between the eyes with an axe. It was Clinton who "never had sex with that woman," and was impeached for perjury before a grand jury. During his testimony, it is stunning how often the President of the United States was unable to recall any pertinent facts. It was amazing he even recognized his own name. His entire administration was riddled with corruption and ineptitude. He surrounded himself with wackjobs who were just as goofy as he was. Remember Jocelyn Elders or Janet Reno? Need I say any more on the subject? Why do you think they vilified Senator Eugene McCarthy? If you really make a Liberal mad, and they want to get you, they start yelling "McCarthyism." McCarthy, in actuality, was an American hero, and while he was rather heavy handed in his accusations against socialists, the truth is, he was not wrong. The people he fought so hard to warn America about are now sitting in seats of power in both our government and our institutions of higher learning. Why do you think we have such dangerous "professors" teaching our children such nonsense as Bush blew up the dikes in New Orleans or Bush flew the planes into the World Trade Center? These people have an agenda, and that is not to be forgotten. Clinton is a proven liar, along with Dean, Kerry and Kennedy. Don't ever forget that.
Suppose we had fought World War II the way the Democrats want to fight the war on terror. It's January,1942. Our fleet lies in ruins in Pearl Harbor, and the Republican Minority Leader is calling for a Special Prosecutor to "get to the bottom" of what happened. The Republicans hold special hearings into what Roosevelt knew, and when he knew it. Peace demonstrators are marching in every city, and college professors say they have proof that Roosevelt pulled the pickle on the bomb that destroyed the Arizona. College students are holding rallies to "better understand" the feelings of the Japanese, and remind us all that shinto is really a religion of peace. The radicals are the ones who are training kamikazes, and "Banzai" is a word recognized by radical Shintoists. Plans are written to appease the Japanese by giving them the Hawaiian Islands without a fight if we can "just get along together." Republican Senators hold "special hearings" to determine why so many Marines are dying on Guadalcanal without any sign of victory. The Republicans are screaming for Secretary of the Navy Knox to step down for the disaster at Pearl Harbor, and Douglas McArthur is branded a coward and court-martialed. General Eisenhower is interviewed on the Senate floor and accuses the Secretary of War of dereliction of duty. The Republicans claim that Roosevelt lied about the Japanese peace talks, and demand his impeachment. Ultimately, through their traitorous behavior, the Republicans get their way, the Japanese swarm over the world, Americans stand trial for war crimes against Bushida, and millions are put to the sword. I think you get the drift here. I really hate Democrats. But, that is my opinion.

I have received a letter from a reader who suggested a couple of improvements to the war critique. They are as follows:

"The above story forgot that General Patton resigns and becomes an advisor for FOX News, and Montgomery goes to NBC, touting what a failure the Iraq encounter is."

Lies and Truths…Bill and Osama

THE LIE:
Bill Clinton is busy angrily defending his “efforts” to capture Osama bin Laden and is accusing the Bush administration of doing less to stop him before the 9-11 attacks. In a heated interview today on “Fox News Sunday,” Clinton defended himself and his efforts to capture bin Laden following the murderous attack upon the USS Cole which occurred during his watch. He claims the criticism from “right-wingers” is unfair. “At least I tried. That’s the difference in me and some, including all of the right-wingers who are attacking me now,” he said. “They had eight months to try, they did not try, I tried. So I tried and failed.” He went on to say, “I authorized the CIA to get groups together to try to kill him.” ( This brings up another touchy subject which we won’t go into detail about at this time concerning accusations from the Left against President Bush. Suffice it to say that things are different if you’re a Democrat.) Clinton claims that he had battle plans drawn up to go into Afghanistan after the USS Cole attack. “Now if you want to criticize me for one thing, you can criticize me for this: after the Cole, I had battle plans drawn to go into Afghanistan, overthrow the Taliban and launch a full-scale attack search for bin Laden. But we needed basing rights in Uzbekistan--which we got after 9/11." Clinton complained at the time that the CIA and FBI would not certify bin Laden was responsible for the USS Cole attack. It has also been suggested that Clinton was too distracted by Lewinsky to confront bin Laden.

THE TRUTH:
Sources in both Washington and the Middle East claim that Clinton turned down at least three offers involving foreign governments to help capture bin Laden after he was identified as a terrorist who was threatening the United States. Clinton himself has described his refusal to accept the first offer as “the biggest mistake” of his presidency. This according to a reliable, unnamed Washington source. Sudanese officials claimed late in 2005 that Washington turned down secret extradition from Khartoum in 1996. Former White House officials said they had no recollection of the offer, of course, but senior sources in the Clinton administration now confirm that it was true. In early 1996, America was exerting pressure on Sudan’s Islamic government to expel bin Laden who had been living there since 1991. It is now revealed that Khartoum sent a former intelligence officer with CIA connections to Washington with an offer to hand over bin Laden exactly the same way they had handed over “Carlos the Jackal,” another international terrorist, into French hands. At the time the State Department described bin Laden as “the greatest single financier of terrorist5 projects in the world” and accused Sudan of harboring terrorists. The extradition offer was turned down. A former senior White House source was quoted, “There simply was not the evidence to prosecute bin Laden. He could not be indicted, so it would serve no purpose for him to have been brought into US custody.” However, a former American counterterrorist figure claims there was “clear and convincing” proof of bin Laden’s conspiracy against America. In May 1996, American diplomats were informed in a Sudanese government fax that bin Laden was about to be expelled, giving Washington another chance to seize him. A former administration source says the offer went to the very top of the White House. The focus of American policy was to “discourage” terrorism, a much different thing from eliminating it, so Khartoum’s expulsion of bin Laden was in itself considered a clear victory. The White House was “delighted.” So, bin Laden took off from Khartoum on May 18 in a chartered C-130 with 150 of his followers, which included his wives, bound for Jalalabad in Afghanistan. On the way, the plane refueled in Qater, a friendly state to the US, but was allowed to proceed. A month later, on June 25, a 5000 pound truck bomb exploded in front of Khobar Towers in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. This was a US military housing complex. The explosion killed 19 American servicemen. Bin Laden was suspected as the person behind the attack. Clinton will not comment on the accusation that he claimed this episode as the “biggest mistake of my presidency.” But a senior White House official acknowledged the Sudan episode had been a “screw-up.”

A second offer to get bin Laden came unofficially from Mansoor ljaz who was a Pakistani-American millionaire and a donor to the Clinton election campaign in 1996. On July 6, 2000, he saw John Podesta, Clinton’s chief of staff, to inform the administration that intelligence officers form a Gulf state were offering to help get bin Laden. The meeting has been confirmed in an exchange of e-mails between the White House and ljaz. According to ljaz, the offer involved setting up an Islamic relief fund to aid Afghanistan in return for the Taliban handing over bin Laden to the Gulf state and the US would get him from there. The Sunday Times has established that after a fierce internal argument between the White House and ljaz, the White House sent Richard Clarke, Clinton’s most senior counterterrorism adviser, to meet the rulers of the United Arab Emirates, who denied there was any such offer. Ljiz, however, maintains that the White House destroyed the deal, which was supposed to have been conducted only through unofficial channels. Ljaz claims that weeks later, he met his contact and embarked on a late-night ride into the desert who told him the Clarke’s front-door approach ruined the deal. “Your government has missed a major opportunity,” he recalls being told. Senior Clinton sources claim that ljaz’s offer had been treated in good faith, but the denial of the UAE government suggested it had no credibility.

A third more mysterious offer to help came from the intelligence services of Saudi Arabia, then led by Prince Turki al-Faisal. Details of the offer are still unclear, but by one account, Turki offered to help place a tracking device in bid Laden’s mother’s luggage who was seeking to make a trip to Afghanistan to see her son. The CIA declined the offer.

The Clintons are on a mission to regain the White House through the election of Hillary Clinton to the presidency. The truth is, she is the Liberal’s Liberal, and her voting record in the Senate proves it. The Clintons know that she will never be elected unless she pretends to be more centrist in her philosophy. Anything that shows the Clinton’s to be soft on terror or soft in the head must be refuted. If America is so stupid as to put the Clintons back in the White House, they deserve what they get. Americans must never forget that Islamists are are sworn enemy and they are hellbent to murder every one of us. I have the recording of Pearl and the other victims having their heads cut off with a knife. It is brutal beyond belief. If you have never seen it, you might consider watching it along with the destruction of the World Trade Center. What Makes a Citizen?

As a whole, the people of the United States have lost their sense of citizenship. Blame the ACLU, blame left-wing groups, right-wing groups, political parties, blame hours and hours of unrealistic dumb television programming. It really doesn’t matter. It is most likely a combination of most or all of those things causing the general malaise that our country suffers from when it comes to a feeling of belonging and oneness.

But how is citizenship defined? What makes a United States citizen a United States citizen? I believe one aspect is how we inform ourselves and vote. Sadly the majority of supposed U.S. citizens don’t even bother to vote and that alone says plenty about our state of citizenship. However, of the people that do bother to vote, I would wager precious few actually inform themselves on the issues and seriously think about what it is they are supporting or (as is recently the case) not supporting at the ballot box.

As American citizens, I believe it is our duty to vote for action, not inaction and not for critical rhetoric on actions already taken. We should demand candidates who provide specific actions (solutions) to or against, specific issues. As responsible citizens, we should accept nothing less.

As a responsible voting citizen, we should place priorities in a proper order. The American people come first followed by the good of the nation as a governing body, followed by the good of the individual citizen. Candidates today place all of their efforts in personal agenda and do not even discuss the American people as a whole or the good of the United States as a world power and governing body. People are stuck on the “me first” mindset and our irresponsible candidates use this underlying lack of citizenship to further their personal gain. People need to realize that a vote for freedom, a vote for the American people is also a vote for the individual citizen.

So where have we lost touch? I believe the most basic fundamental problem our country faces when discussing our citizenship is the disappearance of personal responsibility in public and private life. It has become commonplace, if not completely acceptable, to blame all of our problems on someone or something else. There are simply too many people too easily convinced that we’re not responsible enough to make our own decisions, nor can we be blamed when we make the wrong ones. It’s easy and convenient that way and, it goes without saying, this makes for very bad citizenship.

Our people also suffer from the disease of political correctness. We have somehow allowed our society to be bent and prodded by lawyers, special interest groups, minority groups, and the American Civil Liberties Union and to operate in an inoperable state. Our citizens as a whole are forced to adjust the flow of daily life based on a series of exceptional circumstances that, taken individually, benefit only a few. As a general rule, it has become politically incorrect to favor any group over any other group. It has even become incorrect to favor our own country (God help us) over any or all foreign countries. Who or what survives in the natural world without favoring them or itself? Political correctness is slow unwitting suicide.

Our citizenship is daily under a barrage of coercive manipulation from politicians and lawyers. Our minorities are made to believe that they are being discriminated against, not because politicians and lawyers care about stopping discrimination, but because it’s easy and it assures money and votes. Our country’s poor are made to believe that they are kept poor by big corporations and the rich that refuse to pay higher taxes for more government programs benefiting the poor not because the politicians and lawyers care about stopping poverty, but because it’s easy and it assures money and votes. Our citizens are willing slaves.

Our citizenship suffers from a lack of real leadership. Our political problems go beyond plain corruption in Washington. As a matter of principle, our leaders should be first and foremost citizens and second political leaders. They must place priorities in proper order. They need to classify their responsibilities to the American people as a whole, the United States as a governing body, followed lastly by their personal ideas and agendas. As citizens we must demand this of our leaders. We must demand that the ugliness and corruption in Washington cease so people with real character, ideas, and charisma can step up and lead our country. Washington is full of dull-witted phonies with absolutely no moral scruples or responsibility to their country. I am convinced that there are thousands of Americans that are more intelligent, responsible, and principled than the current lot of buffoons that call themselves law makers in Washington. They are simply unwilling to get involved in the corrupt, ugly, ill-spirited game that is modern American politics. We cannot be led effectively by leaders bent on personal gain.

What makes a citizen? A citizen is someone who demands their leaders to take actions that promote freedom and self accountability. A citizen helps his fellow citizens by simply being a good citizen.

Today we stand against an enemy that has vowed to convert us or crush us. They are serious in their intent and they are fiercely dedicated to their deadly agenda. I suspect that the majority of our so called citizens do not understand the gravity of this situation or the difficulties that face us as a nation. This enemy must be taken seriously.

We stand poised on the brink of a great struggle and we have neither strong citizenship nor strong leadership. If we do not demand true citizenship from our people and our leaders, we will fall. We must come together as a people, not as a political party, not as a governing body, but as citizens of the United States of America. To fail to do so will spell our doom.

Hugo Chavez at the UN

President Bush addressed the UN General Assembly yesterday with a forceful and honest speech which should have made all Americans proud. He laid out our goals in Iraq, warned our enemies, and informed the Islamic world that will not tolerate violence and terrorism. Today, The Ultimate, Greatest, Most Wonderful, He- Manniest, Grand Poobah of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, took the podium. Hugo was in top form, and should have made every wingnut Liberal in America very proud. In the grand style of Chucky Cheesy Schumer or Harry Ratface Reid, Hugo called President Bush "El Diablo" and said the podium still stank of sulfur from our President standing there. (Stupid Hugo, the sulfur stench is the bowels of hell opening to receive your fat ass.) Such rantings were greeted with laughter and outright glee from the General Assembly of the UN. People who call themselves Americans, and I don't mean Democrats, should be outraged by this display. What really irks me is the fact that Hugo was only mimicking the antics he sees on TV performed by the traitorous Liberal senators of America. His choice of words were slightly different, but the meaning and intentions were exactly the same. President Bush has been called just about every vicious name the Democrats can think of, and they need to be expelled from the Senate for their traitorous behavior during a time of war. The fact that Hugo could come to our own country and behave in such a spectacularly insulting manner speaks volumes about the Democrats. Jimmy Carter, with his openly poisonous mouth, has caused unspeakable damage to our nation's honor around the world. Every time a United States senator gets in front of a TV camera and starts spewing comments about how our President lied about Iraq and took us into a war encourages our enemies to emulate their sick behavior. The UN should be expelled from our shores, we should end every affiliation with that miserable organization, and we should build a large sewage treatment plant on the land presently wasted in Manhattan. We really need to mobilize the conservative base in America, wake them all up to the dangers we face in the world today, and remove every Democrat from every office across the nation. These people are just plain dangerous and need to go away. We need to make this election the worst disaster for the Democrat party they have EVER suffered. We CAN do it, but we ALL have to do our share. Tell your friends to visit cockedandlocked.net, make your cash contributions to your local Republicans running for office, volunteer your time to help get them elected. Help get the unregistered voters registered as Republicans, and help to ensure that every registered Republican can get to the polls on election day. Every vote counts. I know that for a fact. I lived in Florida and voted in the 2000 presidential election. I like to think that it was MY vote that put George Bush in the White House. Well, me and my wife, anyway. I have even framed my hanging chad! This promises to be one of the most important election you will ever participate in, and we really need to make sure the Democrats face a disastrous day at the polls. We need to send a message to the Chavez's of the world that their opinions and their socialist countries are not going to be tolerated. We need to start cleaning up our messes, and we need to start today. This is my opinion, and I hope it is also yours!!!

Self Evident Truth

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,–That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

Please take a few moments and really, REALLY ponder the meaning of these few words. Do you know where they come from? They can be found inside the most important document that pertains to American government, the Declaration of Independence. It speaks of truths that are “self-evident,” meaning that these truths are so obvious, they can be recognized at truth just by contemplating them. These words speak of a Creator, a word that has been capitalized because it is a pronoun for God, which argues against separation of church and state. It mentions just three rights; life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Please note, it does not guarantee happiness, but the pursuit of happiness. These three rights are next written about in the context of securing them through a Form of Government which derives its power from the consent of the governed-meaning you and me. Next comes another very interesting section. When any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it and replace it with a new government. This brings us to the last part, which I wish to expound upon.

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

Despotism. This word evinces everything evil to the Founding Fathers. Despotism is a word to describe rulers who are self-centered and self-serving. Despots rule with an iron fist, caring nothing for the governed. The Declaration states that the governed has the duty to throw off a despotic government and to provide new guards for their future safety and security. I wish to propose the question. If our elected officials, who were empowered to represent our best interests, are more concerned with their future position within the government than with the job we elected them to do, are we obligated, is it our DUTY, according to the Declaration, to throw off such government? I have written a letter to my Senators on numerous occasions asking 3 simple questions which neither Senator Santorum nor Senator Specter will address. I have posed my questions in this manner: “Senator, you took an oath of office when you became a United States Senator. This oath requires you to defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. ONE, what is the definition of a domestic enemy, TWO, who determines the proper response to a threat from such an enemy, and THREE, will such an enemy be brought to justice? Both my senators refuse to answer me. I believe that over the past 50 years or so, our government has moved so far toward becoming a despotic tyranny, we would be like a brand new nation if we were to return to the type of existence intended by the Founding Fathers. The Federal government has become such a bloated, uncontrollable behemoth, no one person is capable of understanding the whole. The tax code is so convoluted, not even H&R Block can guarantee no mistakes. The Judicial branch of government is completely out of control, and has become the second legislative branch. And, if this wasn’t bad enough, the executive branch, both Republican and Democrat, has become so engrossed with self empowerment and attempting to destroy the other party, they have lost all touch of why they are sitting in the Capitol Building to begin with. Make no mistake, I have many issues with the Republican Party, and they are making huge blunders at this time. But I still maintain that the Democrats are just plain evil, and need to be booted out of all elected offices. Tempers across the country are getting red hot, and people are getting fed up with the antics going on in Washington. People are outraged over the Supreme Court decisions such as eminent domain, Each party’s verbal attack is getting more outrageous all the time, and Watergate seems like trivia compared to what’s going on today. America can’t even be united over an enemy that wants to destroy us. I am forced to consider that possibility that average citizens are going to have to make the conscious decision to put a stop to all this soon, and it won’t be through the voting machine.

9/11 Reflections

Many have said that our nation changed on September 11, 2001. They claim that we learned lessons and were filled with resolve.

My Grandparents and Great Grandparents withstood the threat of fanaticism and hatred in their time. They recovered from the horror and feelings of vulnerability following the attack on Pearl Harbor. They fought bloody battles in places like Midway, Guadalcanal, North Africa, The Phillipine Islands, and Okinawa. They stood by while thousands of U.S. troops were killed in a single day in places like Iwo Jima and Normandy. They bought war bonds, donated blood for wounded soldiers, and worked long hours in factories building the machinery of war. They learned hard lessons and most of them understood what it would have meant to lose A global war against fanaticism and hate.

Today, five years after the national tragedy and disgrace that was September 11, 2001, I do not believe that we have learned lessons and I do not think that the majority of Americans are full of resolve. I believe that our culture of entitlement has made us complacent and soft. I believe that our national security is undermined by the debilitating disease that is political correctness. I believe that the biggest obstacle that the United States of America faces in the war on terror is our own government.

Our leaders in Washington have shown time and time again since that fateful day that they hate each other more than they hate the enemy responsible for killing more than 3,000 Americans five years ago.

Democrats Again Side With The Terrorists

The Democrats and their illegal branch of government known as the American Civil Liberties Union have again stabbed every American in the back and have decided to give aid and comfort to the terrorists who want to kill you. Typically for Democrats, they hide their treason behind the guise of protecting the Constitution of the United States. The latest outrage against every American comes to us through a Federal judge named Anna Digs Taylor. It should come as no surprise to anyone that this judge was appointed to her position by that previous super president of the United States, none other than Jimmy Carter. You know from my previous posts the high esteem I have for this individual.

"It was never the intent of the (Constitutional) framers to give the president such unfettered control, particularly when his actions blatantly disregard the parameters clearly enumerated in the Bill of Rights," Taylor wrote in a 43-page opinion.

Democrats applauded the ruling as an important affirmation of the rule of law, while lawyers for the A.C.L.U. said Judge Taylor's decision was a sequel to the Supreme Court's decision in June in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld that struck down the administration's plans to try detainees held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for war crimes. Democrats always applaud any event which provides aid and comfort to our enemies. It's been that way now for over fifty years. Taylor's ruling demanded the immediate secession of all wiretapping activities at the National Security Agency.

The Bush administration immediately filed an appeal. The appeal allows the wiretapping to continue until a higher court has the opportunity to rule on the case. We need to understand something very important here. This is key to this entire sorry series of events. Judge Taylor knew full well before her ruling that the Bush administration would appeal her decision. That does not matter one whit to her, because she is doing the bidding of her Democrat handlers. The Democrats, remember, may be traitorous asses, but they are not stupid. They understand that regardless of the outcome of the appeal, the Democrats can be made to look like our great protectors. Here's how this whole thing is going to play out. Remember, I'm telling you this before it even happens.

Lets's say that the appeal is ruled on in favor of the Bush administration and the NSA is allowed to continue indefinitely with their program which is doing a great job of protecting us. Do you think the Democrats are going to shrug, and say "Oh, well."? Of course not. They will be in front of TV cameras all over America yelling about "Bush tramples on the Constitiution and does whatever he wants." Therefore, we need to elect Democrats to restore proper freedom to all of us. In other words, it will restore Democrats to the power they will do anything to regain.

Now, let's look at it the other way. Let's say the appeal rules against the Bush administration, and they agree with Taylor's decision to shut down the NSA program. Again, Democrats will be in front of TV cameras all over America yelling about how "Bush Tramples on the Constitution and does whatever he wants." Therefore, we need to elect Democrats to restore proper freedon to all of us. In other words, it will restore Democrats to the power they will do anything to regain.

Here's the bottom line which every American needs to consider. The wiretapping program being conducted by the NSA in Washington is NOT listening to you having phone sex with your neighbor's 12 year old daughter. They are not even listening to Mohammad planning to blow up the Statue of Liberty. They ARE collecting thousands of phone numbers for international phone calls looking for key words and patterns. Once a pattern is developed that has the characteristics of a possible terrorist link, then they get the warrant to look at the calls. They are not doing anything illegal.

Do you honestly believe the Democrats care whether you live or die? No, they don't. They have proven that over and over again. Clinton did nothing when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center the first time. He did nothing when the USS Cole was almost sunk, and American sailors died. They meant nothing to him, as long as he had a good cigar. The Democrats screamed about Abu Graihb prison, because it caused trouble. They didn't care about the Arabs well being. They just want to cause trouble. John Murtha from Pennsylvania has called American heroes in Iraq murderers and rapists. Do you think he cares whether a Marine lives or dies in Iraq? No. He is too busy appealing to his lunatic left base for their votes for Democrats. Nothing more. He claims to be a war hero. Served in the Marines, even. Hero? No. Traitor? You bet! You just don't DO the things he's done in a time of war without facing a gallows.

We need to realize that the Democrats are almost as much of an enemy as the terrorists of Eastern persuasion are. While the Democrats may not actively be working for your demise, they certainly aren't doing anything to prevent it. Don't you think we need to be doing everything possible to keep these people from restoring themselves to the power they would sell their souls for?

Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) and Her Latest Scuffle with the Law

Seems like it wasn't too long ago when the Democrats were bloviating about the Republican "Culture of Corruption." They seem to ignore their own corruption. I will only mention Congressman William Jefferson (D-LA) in passing, as I am sure he is ancient history to anyone who really follows politics in America today. Besides, Jefferson's corruption is simply gansterism, greed and immorality. Basic politician pollution. Cynthia McKinney's corruption has a much darker and sinister side to it. Every American, regardless of color, creed or religion, should find Congresswoman McKinney's behavior not only bizarre, but troubling.
If you remember correctly, Ms. McKinney found herself in the spotlight a couple of months ago when she refused to stop for a Capitol Building police officer and instead decided to clobber him with her cell phone. Naturally, out came the race card, which every Democrat in America knows precisely how to play, and it turns out that the police officer was guilty of picking on her because of her race. Never mind that she disobeyed a lawful order to stop. Never mind that she assaulted the officer with a weapon. These things pale and become non-issues because she used the race card, which trumps every other law of the land, other than abortion. She went before cameras, if you remember correctly, to make an apology that really didn't apologize for anything.
Now she is front page news again. This time, like Joe Lieberman, she has lost her bid to run as the Democrat representative of her district to another Democrat. This is the last resemblance to Joe Lieberman. Unlike Joe, Ms. McKinney spewed contempt and hatred towards everyone for the audacity of kicking her black butt out of the House of Representatives (racial slur intentional.) Now, even all this pales next to the real issue we need to address. During the altercation with newspeople and law enforcement, Ms. McKinney was surrounded with young strong black males who mouthed anti-Semitic epithets and threatened violence against these people. These men were dressed in military-like uniforms very similar in style to those worn by the armed forces of Eastern persuasions. They claimed to be members of the New Black Panthers, a name which should alert every American to their true intentions, which would be to encourage new racial hatred between the races in America. I watched with great interest Mr. Sean Hannity's interview of a couple of these thugs who spewed hatred and very little intelligence towards anyone who would find fault with Ms. McKinney. The vitriol was so thick that even that Liberal's Liberal, Alan Combes, was amazed and shocked at the pure hatred. Now, for someone who condones the murder of unborn children to be amazed at something like this should be cause for all of us to sit up and pay attention. It must be...SERIOUS! First, does Ms. McKinney think that because she's black, Democratic, and mad that this seat in the House has her name exclusively on it? If that is so, every elected office in America would have gone exclusively to Democrats a long time ago, and we would all be goose-stepping today. Second, if you are going to surround yourself with brutish imbeciles who threaten violence towards anyone who disagrees with you, there is no way you don't know they are there. Let's face it, you are a member of Congress, and in that position, no such people are going to be there without your knowledge and your consent. For you to get in front of television cameras and deny knowledge of their existence is nothing short of...ummmm...ahhh....LYING!!!!!! Of course, lying comes easily to Democrats. Our newspapers are full of outrageous lies made by Democrats. The only problem is, no one, not even Republicans, have the backbone to call liars liars. I have no such problem. Mckinney, you are a dangerous radical socialist, you hate your country, you have no business being in Congress to begin with, the people who elected you need to have their heads examined, and you are a LIAR.

The Year: 1979 * The President: Jimmy Carter * The Place: Iran * The Iranian Leader: The Shah of Iran, Shah Pahlavi

A note to the younger readers of this page. Remember, I was alive then, I remember the TRUTH...

Jimmy Carter was the first Democratic president elected after the administrations of Gerald Ford and Richard Nixon. Nixon is best remembered for Watergate, another topic long maligned which deserves its own article. Carter ran on a ticket of peace and appeasement toward the Soviet Union, and detente was the watchword. Carter can be remembered as the President who gave away the Panama Canal. The United States had only one real ally in the Middle East, besides Israel, the country of Iran. During the previous years, the U.S. helped Iran build a powerful military because Iran was our buffer between the Persian Gulf and the Soviet Union. The Shah was facing demonstrations in his country from radical Islamists, and he turned to the U.S. for assistance to put down the rebellion. President Carter urged the Shah to show restraint, and offer the hand of friendship to his opponents. Reluctantly, the Shah acquiesced to Carter’s wishes, which led to the Shah’s overthrow. Enter the Ayatollah Khomeini. This radical Islamist became the “spiritual” leader of Iran. Carter offered the hand of friendship to the Ayatollah, which was slapped away in pure hatred. It was noted that the U.S. Supported the Shah, and could not be trusted. Followers of Khomeini stormed the American embassy in Tehran and took several American diplomats hostage. Carter, in his infinite wisdom, remained an appeaser and peace fanatic. The hostage situation dragged out for months. During this time, Americans became depressed. OPEC came into existence, and showed the Great Satan, America, what they could do by cutting down oil production. This resulted in raising the cost of crude oil, and created long lines at the gas stations across America. We could only purchase gasoline on certain days of the week, and only if your gas tank was less than half full. All this, thanks to an American president who was elected on a “peace at all costs” platform. The American economy was riddled with double digit inflation, unemployment was at record highs, the Soviet Union was on the march, our military was in its worst state since Pearl Harbor, and the U.S. was hated around the world. Then came along a man named Ronald Reagan. Mr. Reagan began his political career as a Democrat. He came to realize the untruths of the Democratic party, and changed his political affiliation and became a Republican. He had served as the President of the Screen Actors guild in Hollywood, and he had also served 2 terms as the Governor of California. He was urged to run for the presidency, which he did. He ran on a platform that the best years of America were still ahead, the Soviet Union was the leader of the Axis of Evil, and promised to return the U.S. to its role as leader of the free world. Mr. Reagan was elected by a landslide victory. It is most interesting to note that, after almost a year of captivity under Carter, the hostages in Tehran were suddenly released from their ordeal on the exact same day Reagan was sworn in as president...less than an hour after he took up the reins of leadership. Coincidence? I think not. Reagan understood that appeasement leads to defeat. Never in history has diplomatic talks led to actual peace in the world. That is just a truth and a fact. Chamberlain didn’t do it at the start of World War II, McClellan didn’t do it at the start of the Civil War, and Clinton didn’t do it at the Mideast peace talks between Israel and Arafat. What Reagan DID do was to increase our military spending, building naval warships, new aircraft for the Air Force, started building the B-1 bomber which Carter rejected, and, his most brilliant move, began the Space Based Defense Initiative. The Democrats derisively called this program “Star Wars.” This became America’s leading peace bargaining chip with the Soviet Union. The Soviets realized the power of Star Wars. It would make their entire offensive missile system obsolete. And, even more importantly, Star Wars would force them to invest billions of dollars into their own system, billions which they did not possess. They tried frantically to get Reagan to scrap the system, and American news media and especially the Democrats across America accused Reagan of being crazy, a warmonger, senile, and ready to lead us into Armageddon. But Reagan stood by his beliefs and his faith in God. He stood by the wall in Berlin, and called the Soviet Union the Evil Empire. He challenged Gorbachev to “TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!” And, to the amazement of the world, Gorbachev DID. The Soviet Union did not die in a blaze of world war, it died with hardly a whimper. And it was done by the shear willpower and leadership of America’s greatest President of the 20th Century, PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN.

Team

Since I was a young child, I’ve had a favorite football team, a favorite baseball team, a favorite basketball team. I could watch anything, an arm wrestling match, or a game of Battleship between two people I don’t even know and I’ll come up with a person or team that I would rather see win. I don’t need to know anything about the individuals arm wrestling or playing Battleship, I don’t know much personally about the guys lining up for a football team or swinging the bat for a baseball team but I still have a favorite. Maybe it’s the uniform, maybe it’s the way individuals conduct themselves or look. There’s something about them that I can relate to and make them my “favorite”. People like to have a team. It’s in our nature.

Being born in the greatest country mankind has ever created, I’ve had it easy for my thirty something years. Don’t get me wrong, I work hard every day, I pay my taxes, I do a lot of things that I don’t particularly want to do. I’m free. My family is free, my friends are free, and we are saturated with luxuries that our forefathers never had. We’ve been fortunate enough to live in relative peace for most of the duration of my lifetime. Our peace and prosperity has been and still is being bought and paid for by the blood of our young men and women who fight to protect our beautiful jewel of a country. They make that sacrifice because there are those that understand that the world does not begin and end with what’s on network television. They sacrifice because they understand how great our nation is and that there will always be those who envy, covet, and hate our freedom and way of life. There will always be someone who wants what we have.

Right now, there are hoards of Muslim extremists who will do whatever it takes to kill innocent Americans. They are willing to do so not because we have wronged them but simply because they hate us. They hate our fast food, our super models, our sports cars, our movies, our religion, our women, and our children. They hate our capitalism, our leaders, our televisions, books, radios, and freedoms. Their doctrine instructs them to convert us or kill us and they make their living with violence. Their very culture knows only vicious force. There is no other means of negotiation. Negotiation is looked on as weakness. If we are not willing to allow our armed forces to do what they were trained to do, serve and protect our country, these lunatics will be here, within our boarders, killing innocent American civilians. They’ve done it before and they are certainly willing and able to do it again if they are not eradicated.

Our military has more than enough training and firepower to erase Muslim extremism. If the war against terror was truly being fought as a real war, we would have already won. If our generals today were given the green light to win the war, our young men and women would stop coming home in flag draped coffins and we would have all but eliminated the threat of terrorism. However, the decisions governing the most grave issues of our time are being made by two teams.

Since Vietnam, and some would argue before, the Democratic party has been the party of peace and capitulation. They have waged a war, with the help of the liberal media, against our military, against our conservative presidents, and against our very way of life. In the modern era, the Democratic Party has swung so far left as to be vehemently anti-American in many ways. They have nurtured a culture of dependency amongst minorities, spent billions and billions of dollars on their government programs and are no closer to ending poverty than they were 45 years ago. They side with trial lawyers, labor unions, and radical judges to slowly eat away at our freedoms. They attack big corporations and stand for higher taxes. They strive to create a culture of class envy so there is always someone to make promises to. During wartime they stand on the sideline and criticize and call for action that would bring comfort to our enemies. They have come so far as to lie straight to the face of the American people i.e. George Bush lied and led us to believe that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction just for an excuse to wage a war for oil. They are perfectly aware this is a complete fallacy yet they continue to lie and the media continues to broadcast the lies and the American people continue to hear the same lies day after day after day. The Democratic Party is perfectly willing to show weakness to an enemy that preys on weakness simply for political gain. Their politics have no boundaries and I cannot think of any other reason why they would behave in this fashion other than they hate America.

The modern Republican Party, I’m sorry to say, is a product of the modern Democratic Party. While they are typically conservative, they are still a slave to the modern political culture. While talk radio and Fox News have come a long way in broadcasting a conservative viewpoint and pointing out the fallacies and the bias of the left and the liberal media, they are still left wetting their finger and sticking it up when it comes to the mainstream press and network television news. They are a slave to public opinion and a good deal of public opinion is a slave to whatever the liberal media wants to feed it. The Republican Party has become a party of patsies willing to send our young men and women to fight in a foreign country but unwilling to allow them to destroy the enemy if he hides in a mosque. They are willing to allow our brave fighting forces to come home in flag draped coffins but they are unwilling to do what it will take to win this war. They have become a team that is difficult for anyone to relate to. The Republican Party cannot be run by scared stodgy old conservatives anymore that, at the end of the day, are only worried about job security. The American people deserve results, and our fighting forces deserve victory for those who have already sacrificed. The American people deserve a conservative party that is willing to sell itself as a conservative party. There is nothing wrong with conservative values except that people like Katie Couric, George Clooney, Kanye West, and Michael Moore don’t like them. It’s time for individuals with real guts to run on conservative American values and not be afraid to be controversial. I want a Congressman that says what he feels, not what he thinks people want him to say. I don’t want him to avoid saying how he feels because he’s afraid of the spin of the liberal media. I want a leader that smiles at the camera and tells Hezbollah and Al Qaeda that their culture of terror and corruption is about to come to an immediate and violent end if one more American civilian or soldier is harmed. I want a leader that values American culture and tradition. I want a leader that gets on the network talk shows and says exactly how he feels and exactly what he’s going to do about it. I want a return on the sacrifice of our great fallen heroes. I want justice.

Every day countless Americans that pay little, if any, attention to the actual issues at hand, talk to their neighbors, write letters to the editor, and vote. They are spoon fed “information” from the liberal media and they are subsequently drawn to a favorite team. They are charmed, promised class equality, and stirred to anger over issues that simply do not exist. The modern Democratic Party holds two aces in their hands in the form of the mainstream media and the Hollywood elites. I’m convinced that, without these two groups, the modern Democratic Party would be an absolute failure. They are simply on the wrong side of every issue but are given a free pass, and often encouraged by the media and the Hollywood elites.

The Republican Party needs to start playing the popularity game. They need passion. Sometimes it’s okay to be angry. Liberal minded rock stars make huge fortunes over being passionate and (clueless) angry every day. More importantly, people listen to them because, however ignorant, their statements are heartfelt. The American conservative movement needs heartfelt statements free of the shackles of political correctness. America needs to get angry and not be afraid that anger is always a bad thing. America needs to mourn the loss of its soldiers by encouraging victory, not giving in to an enemy that will never surrender in their fight to destroy the Western World. America needs a conservative party that will accuse the Democrats and the media of lying when they lie. We need heroes to carry the ball and go to bat. America needs heroes and role models not career politicians. America needs to root for the American team again.

Desperate for relief from the mainstream media propaganda machine I, like so many of my conservative brethren, find my car radio dial endlessly tuned to talk radio. 104.7 FM in Pittsburgh has become a veritable oasis in the vast political hopelessness that is the State of Pennsylvania. They carry the usual staples, Rush, Beck, Savage etc… On my morning commute I usually shuffle between AM ESPN radio and the Quinn and Rose in the Morning Show on the FM talky. Although sometimes a little rant happy, Jim Quinn is usually right on the mark with his political commentary. He has a self titled list of rules to live by which he calls, “Quinn’s Laws” which I searched for but was unable to uncover on the show’s website. I am paraphrasing, but one of Quinn’s Laws states that liberals always blame conservatives for doing whatever it is that liberals are doing, have done, or are planning to do. This morning he claimed that this was evident during Harry Reid’s statement about Cheney and Bush using their stance on the war for political gain (again paraphrasing). For this, I again raise my glass to him. However, this morning, as I was standing in the shower, I had a moment of panic as I thought about Quinn’s law of liberal blame tactics. For the last five years, we have been subject to the mad raving of Al Gore, Howard Dean, and the finger pointing fringe of the howling left (subsequently reported on and inappropriately maintained by the lefty news media) that George Bush stole the election in 2000 and then stole it again in 2004. Now I’m not going to go into a discussion about the facts in this debate, it has been overdone as it is. I will mention that I think the best commentary on the matter can be found in Mark Levin’s brilliant book, Men in Black. It should be mandatory reading in all schools and coffee shops across the country. But I digress… In looking at the typical liberal tactic of blaming conservatives for doing whatever liberals are doing, have done, or plan on doing it occurred to me that the democrats have been laying the groundwork for five years leading up to the 2008 election. Having planted the seed of a stolen election in the minds of the American media and populace, the democrats have placed themselves in a position to be able to do absolutely anything necessary to win the presidential election in 2008. They’ve created a no-holds barred scenario and the media will dutifully and quietly justify any and all attempts by the democrats to regain the presidency and smugly discredit claims of foul play by republicans. It plays right into their very nature as they never rely on facts and common sense in their brand of politics, only misrepresentation of facts to sway emotions and sympathy. I can already see Couric, Mathews, et al grimacing and looking incredulous at the mention of democratic voting fraud. After all, George Bush and his cronies stole the 2000 and 2004 elections.

It is undeniable that most, if not all, real verifiable instances of culpable voter fraud that occurred in the 2000 and 2004 election cycle occurred in predominately democratic regions where republicans didn’t stand a chance of winning even with an extra couple thousand votes. I have yet to hear of a single instance in which voter fraud occurred that tipped the balance in republican’s favor. If there was even a hint of such an instance, the media would have ridden that horse until it was dead.

The democrat’s messiah is readying herself for 2008. They will have their power back and they will stop at nothing. Jim Quinn, the outspoken radio DJ in Pittsburgh has it right when he says liberals always blame conservatives for doing whatever it is that liberals are doing, have done, or are planning to do. There’s no doubt that Hillary Clinton is running in 2008 and, according to liberals, George Bush stole the election in 2000 and again in 2004. Folks, it’s time to lock and load.

The line is an apparent reference to a phrase "hearts and minds" _ often used by President Bush.

This proves my point that we are fighting a war with two enemies on two fronts. Something needs to be done about the terrorists in our government and those broadcasting over our airwaves. They have the blood of our servicemen on their hands and the support of our enemies abroad.

If I Were Prez

I have to admit that I’m more than a little disappointed in The President’s nomination of Harriet Miers to the SCOTUS. I’d love to adopt a wait and see policy but I just can’t bring myself to think that way. This is just too important. Once again, Republican leadership has backed away from adversity. I was promised Scalia and I got an enigma. Mr. President, I don’t want to have to trust you on this. I want a sure bet. I want you to do what you said you would do if I voted for you. I want a conservative constitutional purist. I’m sick and tired of hearing about “balance on the court” and “the swing vote”. The Supreme Court has one purpose, to uphold the Constitution. It has nothing to do with balance and swing votes.

In light of my pure disappointment and near resentment, I’m going to throw my hands up in the air and get downright belligerent and satirical. The President’s apprehension when faced with the proposition of all out war with the whininess and self aggrandizement that is the United States Senate has driven me to new heights.

Without and Within

I find it interesting that the same anti-American scumbags that will publish the newly released Abu Ghraib photographs are the same anti-American scumbags that claim it is inappropriate to show images of 9/11.

Images of our own innocent countrymen being slaughtered at the hands of murderous Islamic pigs is considered out of bounds but images of a few (and I stress FEW) renegade miscreants in our military putting panties on the heads of murderous Islamic pigs is front page material.

9/11 footage would enrage and motivate the American people and serve as a reminder and a justification of our efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Abu Ghraib footage serves as recruiting material for terrorists. Is there any question whose side they're on?

The bottom line, and what the left will never accept or understand, is that some problems demand violence as the only solution. In their utter disregard for this blatant fact of human nature and in their desperate quest for relevance they continually undermine the efforts of our brave fighting men and women and put millions of American people in peril.

We're fighting a war on two fronts. The Islamic fundamentalists must be exterminated. At the same time, the ignorant in our society must be educated about the fierce liberal media bias. The targets without and within must be addressed and eradicated.

Observations on Race

Welfare is a covert poverty protection program (PPP) for the Democratic Party. They champion themselves as the party that sticks up for poor minorities but all they really do is pay them to stay uneducated, unemployed and unnecessary for progress. Then they blast their “get out and vote” propaganda and bus them in droves to vote (registered or not) for the Democrat candidate.

Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and others are embroiled in an increasingly neurotic effort to preserve their own relevance. So called civil rights leaders are unnecessary in a society in which racial intolerance is largely a thing of the past. There is no doubt that racism exists but the fact that its origins reside in all corners of our society, affecting all races, is the dirty little secret that these phonies would rather you didn’t know. Their pertinence depends on the perceived victimization of the uneducated and impressionable.

Big media outlets are concerned with selling themselves first and reporting the news later. They make money from advertisers who are willing to pay top dollar to any media outlet that can produce something that people will pay attention to. People pay attention to things that either turn them on or piss them off. Is it surprising that the media spotlights the kooks that fuel the flames of racism but passes over the moderates that call for self reflection? Self accountability is not a popular concept amidst a culture conditioned to subsist on government handouts and it certainly doesn’t inflame hatred and class struggle like a good beating. Racism sells.

Dems - Dumb, Helpless And Caring

What the Democratic national leadership seems to have crafted is a message that they are the plucky, bighearted, but hopelessly outclassed junior league team of American politics. This is not a winning message. The only way you can win with the message of "heart" is to have concrete plans to solve real (not media-created) problems. If this theme were put on a bumpersticker, it would read "Dems - Dumb, Helpless And Caring".

In the Katrina disaster they were reduced to claiming that the local (Democratic) leadership was clearly incompetent so the Republican President should have invaded Louisiania. Don't they realize the logical conclusion? Don't they realize the net effect of all these video bites? Dems - blubbering, despairing people helpless in the face of adversity. FEMA - putting Katrina volunteers through a week of political correctness programs. Don't they see the net effect is to rebut the message of all these special interest groups? That the hysterical, whining women's rightists appear to be a block to progress rather than a move forward?

Don't they see that the American public is going to look at all of this determined irrelevance and reject it in favor of the theory that you ought to just do something, dammit?
