Target of the Month - February 2005
I was hoping that someone else would come along this month that was a bigger counterfeit than Ward Churchill but that would certainly be a great deal to hope for. Hiding within the fetid womb of academia, Churchill has falsely laid claim to having Native American roots to receive jobs, promotions, tenure, and the Ethics Studies chair at the University of Colorado. Among his countless other ridiculous claims, that the U.S. Army gave blankets infected with smallpox to Native Americans to spread the disease (a hundred years before anyone had any idea that diseases even came from pathogens). Churchill called Americans slaughtered by Islamic fundamentalists on 9-11 “little Eichmanns”. Most recently he has claimed that “combat teams” (terrorists) were not “unreasonable or vindictive” when they killed 3,000 Americans on 9-11 and that they "would, at a minimum, have to blow up about 300,000 more buildings and kill something on the order of 7.5 million people" to even the score with America.
As many times as I have read these outrageous facts about Churchill over the last month or so, I am still astounded that people like this exist, and are actually appreciated by even the most vile backwater of our society. Tell me, when you first heard about Churchill’s ridiculous ranting didn’t you picture some washed up middle aged hippie with stringy hair, dark glasses, and a pasted on solemn expression that just begs you to think of him as dark, brooding, and intellectual?
Mr. Churchill will be a tough one to beat for Target of the Year for 2005 and, frankly, I can’t think of another likeness that I would rather see people shooting at than that of Ward “if only I was part injun” Churchill, Cocked and Locked’s Target of the Month for February 2005.
Happy shooting!

Target of the Month - January 2005
Without further ado, I give you Michael Newdow, our target of the month for January 2005.
His latest endeavor:
"Michael Newdow, an atheist doctor and lawyer from Sacramento, has filed a complaint and a motion for preliminary injunction in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, seeking to remove prayer and all "Christian religious acts" from the Jan. 20 inauguration. Mr. Newdow, 50, asserts that the presence of Christian ministers who pray publicly at the inauguration, Christian songs and the swearing of the oath of office while a president places a hand on the Bible violates the establishment clause of the First Amendment"
While I could go off on a tirade about the absence of any clear statement concerning the separation of church and state in The Constitution, I'll refrain. All decent human beings see this guy for what he really is, an annoying prick with a law degree and a vendetta against Christianity. If this case drew a judge with a set of balls, he would tell Mr. Newdow to shut up, sit down, and get over himself. Quickly.

Target of the Month - December 2004
this little tidbit has inspired a new special monthly feature here on Cocked and Locked. Every month, I will post a story about someone who has done or said something particularly loathsome complete with a free downloadable image suitable for target practice. Please note that I am not encouraging or condoning violence toward any of the individuals mentioned (or any other individual for that matter). This category is meant strictly as a joke, and to provide free pistol targets to my readers. The real challenge will be in only posting to this category once a month!
So, without delay, here is Cocked and Locked's Mr. December 2004, Jan Egeland (right-click the link, choose "save target as" then paste image in text editor to print).
“U.N. Undersecretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Jan Egeland suggested that the United States and other Western nations were being ‘stingy’ with relief funds, saying there would be more available if taxes were raised. ‘It is beyond me why are we so stingy, really,’ the Norwegian-born U.N. official told reporters. ‘Christmastime should remind many Western countries at least, [of] how rich we have become.’”
I’ll give “his Excellency” credit, at least he’s not attempting to disguise his global one world utopian ideals. According to this maggot, our federal income tax should be determined not by the needs of the American taxpayer, but by the needs of the world community. This comes from an organization refusing to take responsibility and resisting investigation of the staggeringly corrupt and mismanaged oil for food program in Iraq. That’s right, money spent mostly by rich westerners, meant to fill the bellies of hungry Iraqi children lined the pockets of a murdering dictator and, most assuredly, corrupt U.N. officials.
I think it’s important to flip this over and take a long look at the diseased underbelly of Mr. Egeland’s supposition. What is lightly disguised as a plea for mercy during the season of giving in the Christian world, is really an outrage at being unable to dictate how much the U.S. and Western nations should be obligated to donate to U.N. relief funds. Taking this a step further, Mr. Egeland is clearly stating his discontent with our rate of taxation. Now, at the risk of sounding unsympathetic and snarky, what in the world gives this pompous gasbag the right to question our federal income tax rates? Why would we feel obligated to assume that the U.N. is the unquestionable authority on humanitarian aid when they have repeatedly shown that they are little more than an ineffectual debating society fraught with corruption and scandal?
This is, quite simply, one of the most infuriating statements I have read in a long time. The United States is easily the most caring, giving nation in the world. It’s time people wake up and see the United Nations for its string of failures and its internal corruption. We need to schedule continuous cutbacks in U.S. contributions until we see sweeping real reforms (not cosmetic). U.N. officials, including Kofi Annan, must be held accountable for past corruption and criminal actions. U.N. accounts should be open to the world body for scrutiny. U.N. employees should be held accountable under a strict code of conduct. The United Nations will continue to be the impotent world hot air society until serious changes are implemented or we turn off the spigot.
It’s time to rid the world of these presumptuous, arrogant, self-serving weasels.
