Another Example of Stupidity From Government

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.
Albert Einstein

I see that the state legislature of the state of Virginia will be making an apology for their role in slavery a hundred and fifty years ago, even though no living person today in their silly state ever owned a slave. I thought I would have a little fun and I sent the following letter to a state senator in that state. You may wish to do something like it yourself.

Dear Senator, I understand that the state legislature of the state of Virginia will be declaring their profound sympathy for their role in slavery. I wish to enter my demand for an official state apology also. Several years ago, the state of Virginia had the slogan, "Virginia is for lovers" at a time my wife and I were experiencing marital difficulties. While it is true the two of us have solved our problems and are happily married at this time, we were devastated then by your insensitive state motto. I nearly suffered a nervous breakdown while thinking about your very hateful slogan. I think it only fair that the state of VIrginia should issue an official apology for their thoughtlessness, even though it is most unlikely that any present member of the legislature was responsible for approving the slogan to begin with. I would appreciate your timely response to my demand. I feel my mental health is at very serious risk at this time. Thank you.

Why A President Clinton, Obama Or Any Other Democrat Would Be Disasterous

"All quiet along the Potomac."
General George McClellan, prior to the first battle of Bull Run

The White House is constantly under attack from Democrats suffering from "Bush Under Looney Liberal Senatorial Hatred (which) Immitates Terrorism" (BULLSHIT) and the Democrats are no longer capable of dealing with any foreign problems such as a war. This is due to their weird associations with every crazy and illogical goofy organization. Are you an animal rights goof? Then you are a LIBERAL! Are you a queer? Definitely, you are a LIBERAL! Do you believe in killing unborn babies? Yep, LIBERALISM is for YOU! Are you working to take God our of our country? You guessed it, LIBERAL is your moniker! Waiting for the Mother Ship in orbit to beam you up? You can catch a ride with Tom Cruise. Just take your Socialist Democrat card for ID, you liberal, you! On the upcoming Earth Day, Algore will welcome you home, your tree-hugging Democrat. This is why Democrats cannot deal with something as serious as a war. Their weird ideas won't let them. Look at how weak Carter was when confronted by the Iranians. For over a year, he was as helpless as the baby in the womb he was in favor of killing. Clinton? We hardly need to rehash his inept handling of terrorism. Khobar Towers...USS Cole...North Korea acquiring nukes...the first Twin Towers...if we, as a nation, should have the misfortune of being burdened with a Democrat president, things would be infinitely worse the second time around. I can safely make this claim for a number of reasons. First, the Democrats insist on treating the war on terrorism as a law enforcement issue. When terrorists are active against us and foment hate attacks against American interests, it is not feasible to capture them, take them to this country to stand trial, and give them their civil rights as if they were American citizens. That is just stupid behavior. Ronald Reagan said, "Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. was too strong." The Kane Equation states, "If Democrats appear foolish and cowardly, this invites increased terrorist attack." Over the past 6 years, the Democrats have consistently fought against every measure that would ensure victory against terrorism. They have emasculated the Patriot Act, the Homeland Security Agency and the secret wiretapping of terrorist groups. They have cried "profiling" when the agencies charged with our defense have tried to defend us agains Arab males. This weak-kneed treason simply invites more terrorist activity against us. When Joe Lieberman was defeated in the Democrat primary last year, the Democrats sent a message, "if you are serious about defending America, it will cost you your cushy government job." Since the example made of Joe, Democrats are more reluctant than ever to take a stand for America's defense. We also need to remember that, in their souls, Democrats are Socialists, not capitalists, so to them, a war on terror is nothing but a big pain in the butt that is distracting them from the real issues such as socializing the economy, raising taxes, promoting gay marriage and abortion, and other crap. I for one am a bit sick of hearing that global warming is more likely to kill me than a young Arab male with an attitude. Bottom line? If you have a party in power that thinks this crap is more important, than our military is in the crapper, our lives are in danger, and Americans all over the world will be killed. If the armed forces are used to advance our interests, or even to protect our own borders, for crying out loud, the Liberals whine and moan. But they have no problem sending them off to some hellhole that has a chance to give them a feelgoodfeeling. That's why Iraq is evil, but the Sudan is righteous. Then there's the UN. With nations such as China, France and Russia in cahoots with every one of our enemies, we need the UN like we need that knife at our throat. Since the Democrats demand UN "sanctions" for everything that concerns American interests abroad, we might as well admit that any foreign policy is irrelevant. This is in line with the Democrat need for international acceptance of everything we try to accomplish overseas. Europeans are weak militarily, they have a history of pandering to their enemies, engage in stupid international law and think their own crap doesn't stink. Yet, every time we depend on them for anything, they let us down and are completely worthless. We would be better if the entire European continent slid silently into the sea. A Democrat president would be hampered by involvement with the UN. If a Democrat wins the White House, America's intelligence programs will again be destroyed. We will be open to foreign attack and terrorists will have freedom to kill us. The price our nation, and our allies, the ones the Democrats don't scare off, if any, will pay in blood will be awful. Mark this blog down for future reference and see if I'm wrong if the Democrats infest the White House.

The Dark Secret About Barack Obama

"Come on boys! Give them the cold steel! Who will follow me?"
-Brigadier General Lewis Armistead, CSA, July 3, 1863

Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill) threw his hat into the political ring for President of the United States on February 10, 2007. As the freshman Senator and the Democrat on a meteoric rise within the ranks of the rank Democrats,he is on a pilgrimage to replace President Bush. Obama gave the keynote address at the 2004 Democrat convention before his election to the Senate, and recently appeared on a Time magazine cover. He is being recognized as a viable alternative to Madame Hillary, who is increasingly looked upon as a flipflopper in the image of John Hanoiboy Kerry. Obama has promised to "change our politics" with him becoming the first black American president in U.S. history. The question is: what kind of change would he bring to America if he should be elected? Recently, the ultra left and the godless Liberals have embarked upon an attempt to redefine abortion as "social justice." The fact that abortion kills over 3200 Americans per day or 1.2 million per year is becoming a mite bit embarrassing to the murderous left. This is a crisis that the Left wishes to ignore, but deserves the attention of every American policy maker and leader. Liberals want to push their agenda on issues such as poverty, education, health care, fair wages, and the war in Iraq. They want abortion to be forgotten. Obama shrugs off abortion issues because he has a long record of forgetting the pre-born children. He does not wish to be associated with the fact that over 1400 black babies lose their lives EVERY DAY in abortion murder mills. He even supports the killing of born and partially born children. He claims to stand for justice but denies that justice to the most innocent members of society, the unborn children. Minority women make up only about 13% of the female population aged 15-44 in the United States, but they suffer approximately 36% of all abortions in this country. Black women are three times more likely as white women to have an abortion. The dark secret is Obama has a 100% perfect rating from the Illinois Planned Parenthood ( an organization whose founder called blacks "human weeds") for his support of abortion. This murderous rampage against the children has resulted in a horrendous loss of life. It has been estimated that since 1973, black women have suffered about 10 million abortions, and without that loss, the present population of blacks in America would today be higher by about 35%. Abortion has swept through the black community like a scythe, cutting down every fourth member. A 1993 Howard University study showed that black American women over the age of 50 were 4.7 times more likely to get breast cancer if they had any abortions compared to women who had not had an abortion. The following graph shows the comparison of death by abortion to other leading causes of death. Obama does NOT want people to see this graph...especially the black population.

Three Speeches to Contemplate

This is a speech from General George S. Patton. Please beware, the language is for adults only, because he was a fighting man, and spoke as such.

"Men, this stuff that some sources sling around about America wanting out of this war, not wanting to fight, is a crock of bullshit. Americans love to fight, traditionally. All real Americans love the sting and clash of battle. You are here today for three reasons. First, because you are here to defend your homes and your loved ones. Second, you are here for your own self respect, because you would not want to be anywhere else. Third, you are here because you are real men and all real men like to fight. When you, here, everyone of you, were kids, you all admired the champion marble player, the fastest runner, the toughest boxer, the big league ball players, and the All-American football players. Americans love a winner. Americans will not tolerate a loser. Americans despise cowards. Americans play to win all of the time. I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That's why Americans have never lost nor will ever lose a war; for the very idea of losing is hateful to an American. You are not all going to die. Only two percent of you right here today would die in a major battle. Death must not be feared. Death, in time, comes to all men. Yes, every man is scared in his first battle. If he says he's not, he's a liar. Some men are cowards but they fight the same as the brave men or they get the hell slammed out of them watching men fight who are just as scared as they are. The real hero is the man who fights even though he is scared. Some men get over their fright in a minute under fire. For some, it takes an hour. For some, it takes days. But a real man will never let his fear of death overpower his honor, his sense of duty to his country, and his innate manhood. Battle is the most magnificent competition in which a human being can indulge. It brings out all that is best and it removes all that is base. Americans pride themselves on being He Men and they ARE He Men. Remember that the enemy is just as frightened as you are, and probably more so. They are not supermen. All through your Army careers, you men have bitched about what you call 'chicken shit drilling.' That, like everything else in this Army, has a definite purpose. That purpose is alertness. Alertness must be bred into every soldier. I don't give a fuck for a man who's not always on his toes. You men are veterans or you wouldn't be here. You are ready for what's to come. A man must be alert at all times if he expects to stay alive. If you're not alert, sometime, a German son-of-an-asshole-bitch is going to sneak up behind you and beat you to death with a sockful of shit! There are four hundred neatly marked graves somewhere in Sicily, all because one man went to sleep on the job. But they are German graves, because we caught the bastard asleep before they did. An Army is a team. It lives, sleeps, eats, and fights as a team. This individual heroic stuff is pure horse shit. The bilious bastards who write that kind of stuff for the Saturday Evening Post don't know any more about real fighting under fire than they know about f_-_-_-_-_-_-_! We have the finest food, the finest equipment, the best spirit, and the best men in the world. Why, by God, I actually pity those poor sons-of-bitches we're going up against. By God, I do. My men don't surrender. I don't want to hear of any soldier under my command being captured unless he has been hit. Even if you are hit, you can still fight back. That's not just bull shit either. The kind of man that I want in my command is just like the lieutenant in Libya, who, with a Luger against his chest, jerked off his helmet, swept the gun aside with one hand, and busted the hell out of the Kraut with his helmet. Then he jumped on the gun and went out and killed another German before they knew what the hell was coming off. And, all of that time, this man had a bullet through a lung. There was a real man! All of the real heroes are not storybook combat fighters, either. Every single man in this Army plays a vital role. Don't ever let up. Don't ever think that your job is unimportant. Every man has a job to do and he must do it. Every man is a vital link in the great chain. What if every truck driver suddenly decided that he didn't like the whine of those shells overhead, turned yellow, and jumped headlong into a ditch? The cowardly bastard could say, 'Hell, they won't miss me, just one man in thousands.' But, what if every man thought that way? Where in the hell would we be now? What would our country, our loved ones, our homes, even the world, be like? No, Goddamnit, Americans don't think like that. Every man does his job. Every man serves the whole. Every department, every unit, is important in the vast scheme of this war. The ordnance men are needed to supply the guns and machinery of war to keep us rolling. The Quartermaster is needed to bring up food and clothes because where we are going there isn't a hell of a lot to steal. Every last man on K.P. has a job to do, even the one who heats our water to keep us from getting the 'G.I. Shits.' Each man must not think only of himself, but also of his buddy fighting beside him. We don't want yellow cowards in this Army. They should be killed off like rats. If not, they will go home after this war and breed more cowards. The brave men will breed more brave men. Kill off the Goddamned cowards and we will have a nation of brave men. One of the bravest men that I ever saw was a fellow on top of a telegraph pole in the midst of a furious fire fight in Tunisia. I stopped and asked what the hell he was doing up there at a time like that. He answered, 'Fixing the wire, Sir'. I asked, 'Isn't that a little unhealthy right about now?' He answered, 'Yes Sir, but the Goddamned wire has to be fixed'. I asked, 'Don't those planes strafing the road bother you?' And he answered, 'No, Sir, but you sure as hell do!' Now, there was a real man. A real soldier. There was a man who devoted all he had to his duty, no matter how seemingly insignificant his duty might appear at the time, no matter how great the odds. And you should have seen those trucks on the rode to Tunisia. Those drivers were magnificent. All day and all night they rolled over those son-of-a-bitching roads, never stopping, never faltering from their course, with shells bursting all around them all of the time. We got through on good old American guts. Many of those men drove for over forty consecutive hours. These men weren't combat men, but they were soldiers with a job to do. They did it, and in one hell of a way they did it. They were part of a team. Without team effort, without them, the fight would have been lost. All of the links in the chain pulled together and the chain became unbreakable. Don't forget, you men don't know that I'm here. No mention of that fact is to be made in any letters. The world is not supposed to know what the hell happened to me. I'm not supposed to be commanding this Army. I'm not even supposed to be here in England. Let the first bastards to find out be the Goddamned Germans. Some day I want to see them raise up on their piss-soaked hind legs and howl, 'Jesus Christ, it's the Goddamned Third Army again and that son-of-a-fucking-bitch Patton.' We want to get the hell over there. The quicker we clean up this Goddamned mess, the quicker we can take a little jaunt against the purple pissing Japs and clean out their nest, too. Before the Goddamned Marines get all of the credit. Sure, we want to go home. We want this war over with. The quickest way to get it over with is to go get the bastards who started it. The quicker they are whipped, the quicker we can go home. The shortest way home is through Berlin and Tokyo. And when we get to Berlin, I am personally going to shoot that paper hanging son-of-a-bitch Hitler. Just like I'd shoot a snake! When a man is lying in a shell hole, if he just stays there all day, a German will get to him eventually. The hell with that idea. The hell with taking it. My men don't dig foxholes. I don't want them to. Foxholes only slow up an offensive. Keep moving. And don't give the enemy time to dig one either. We'll win this war, but we'll win it only by fighting and by showing the Germans that we've got more guts than they have; or ever will have. We're not going to just shoot the sons-of-bitches, we're going to rip out their living Goddamned guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We're going to murder those lousy Hun cocksuckers by the bushel-fucking-basket. War is a bloody, killing business. You've got to spill their blood, or they will spill yours. Rip them up the belly. Shoot them in the guts. When shells are hitting all around you and you wipe the dirt off your face and realize that instead of dirt it's the blood and guts of what once was your best friend beside you, you'll know what to do! I don't want to get any messages saying, 'I am holding my position.' We are not holding a Goddamned thing. Let the Germans do that. We are advancing constantly and we are not interested in holding onto anything, except the enemy's balls. We are going to twist his balls and kick the living shit out of him all of the time. Our basic plan of operation is to advance and to keep on advancing regardless of whether we have to go over, under, or through the enemy. We are going to go through him like crap through a goose; like shit through a tin horn! From time to time there will be some complaints that we are pushing our people too hard. I don't give a good Goddamn about such complaints. I believe in the old and sound rule that an ounce of sweat will save a gallon of blood. The harder WE push, the more Germans we will kill. The more Germans we kill, the fewer of our men will be killed. Pushing means fewer casualties. I want you all to remember that. There is one great thing that you men will all be able to say after this war is over and you are home once again. You may be thankful that twenty years from now when you are sitting by the fireplace with your grandson on your knee and he asks you what you did in the great World War II, you WON'T have to cough, shift him to the other knee and say, 'Well, your Granddaddy shoveled shit in Louisiana.' No, Sir, you can look him straight in the eye and say, 'Son, your Granddaddy rode with the Great Third Army and a Son-of-a-Goddamned-Bitch named Georgie Patton!' "
Thus was the courage and fighting spirit during World War II and why we were victorious.
Next comes Rush Limbaugh:
One of the darkest days in the history of the House of Representatives is slated for tomorrow. This is where they're going to vote on this nonbinding resolution, and the "slow bleed process to take the president out of Iraq. Actually, the process here is to isolate him politically and to limit his ability to maneuver, similar to what happened with the Democrats in the Congress during the Vietnam War with Nixon. They actually never did cut off funding for Nixon, but they did tell him where he couldn't send troops. It eventually led to a debacle, and the same thing is being planned here by people, and they're calling themselves "courageous;" people who are telling themselves and their audiences that they are acting in the best interests of the country. But I'll tell you, there is no sound bite; there is no torturously crafted statement; there is no skillful twist of logic; no lawyerly proclamation; no media spin, whatsoever, that will turn the House vote tomorrow -- this nonbinding resolution -- into anything but a disgrace of historic proportion. The only positive here in these debates, is that the House is showing they have the courage to show they have none. They are demonstrating, for each and every one of us, that they have all the courage in the world to show that they have no courage whatsoever. Do you know what courage would be here? Courage would be going against the polls and supporting the mission. Courage would be going with the polls and cutting off funds. Neither of these options are on the table for these people, because they don't have the courage to do either of those things. All they have is the courage to say, "We support the troops, Mr. Limbaugh! We support the troops," and that, my friends, is not support. It is the guidance of political consultants who tell 'em what to say. But what message are they sending to our troops? What message are they sending to the enemy, and what message are they sending to Pelosi's children and grandchildren? Speaker Pelosi, Congressmen Hoyer and Murtha, you might be conning the moderates out there. No doubt you are. But, you're not fooling the left -- your ragtag mob out there who want immediate withdrawal -- and you're not fooling the right who want victory. This historic BS, this historic Barbra Streisand will have little effect now, but it will put you in the record books for arranging one of the darkest days in the history of the House of Representatives.
Last, Congressman Ric Keller, a traitorous Republican from the state of Florida. This sniveling coward needs a hemp necktie for his next formal dinner engagement. Compare his stand to America's enemies to General Patton.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to discuss the War in Iraq. I oppose the surge. We don’t need more American troops caught in the cross hairs of a civil war. After nearly 4 years, it’s high time for the Iraqis to send in their own troops to take out the Shia militias and the Sunni insurgents. In short, the problem in Iraq is that we are losing nearly 100 American lives every month, and we are spending $2 billion a week. The solution is not to lose even more lives and to spend even more money. I approach this subject with a great deal of humility, and it is not my intention to micromanage this war. I am merely a Member of Congress, and not a 4 star general. But I have listened to what the most well-respected, 4 star generals in the United States have to say about this matter. And Generals Abizaid, Casey, and Colin Powell have all said that sending another surge of troops into Iraq is not the answer. I’m terribly concerned about interjecting American troops into the middle of civil war violence. Who do they shoot at? The Sunni? The Shia? Well, one thing we know is that 61% of Iraqis approve of violent attacks against our U.S. troops.Does that sound like a grateful country to you? Thanks to our brave American troops, Saddam Hussein and al-Zarqawi are dead. The Iraqi people have had 3 democratic elections. And three-fourths of the senior al-Qaeda operatives have been killed or captured. And yet 61% of Iraqis want to kill American troops? And 79% of Iraqis have a “mostly negative” view of the United States. The American people have paid the ultimate price for this war, and now is not the time to escalate the tragedy even further. This Iraq war has lasted longer than World War II, it has claimed more American lives than the attacks of 9/11, and it has cost more money than the Vietnam War.The military action this Congress authorized in 2002 was for a far different purpose than the war we face today. I voted to authorize the use of force because I did not want Saddam Hussein to give weapons of mass destruction to al-Qaeda. Now Saddam Hussein is dead, and there are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Why did we stay in Iraq? Because we wanted the Iraqi people to have a unified and secure government, so that Iraq would not become a haven for terrorists, like what happened to Afghanistan after Russia pulled out.Unfortunately, the Iraqi government has provided neither unity nor security. After nearly 4 years, the Iraqis still have not achieved reconciliation, still not decided how to share their oil revenues, and still not dealt with the militias and insurgents. For example, 80% of the sectarian violence in Iraq is within a 30 mile radius of Bagdad. Yet, despite the fact that the Iraqi security forces outnumber the al-Sadr militia by a ratio of 5 to 1 (300,000 vs. 60,000), the Maliki government still has not taken action to take out Moqtada al-Sadr and his militia. In his speech, President Bush tells us that he emphasized the importance of benchmarks with Prime Minister Maliki. Unfortunately, the Iraqi government has a pattern of not fulfilling its promises with regard to benchmarks. For example, when I was in Iraq in May of last year, the Iraqi government officials told me they would be able to provide security for themselves by December of ’06. Now they’re saying they hope to have their own security in place by December of 2007.Similarly, the U.S. surged the number of troops in Baghdad last summer from 7,500 to 15,000 to take out insurgents, but the Iraqi government reneged on its promise to provide Iraqi troops and, as a result, the insurgents came right back after we left. Mr. Speaker, I believe the motives of President Bush, and other prominent leaders such as Senator John McCain who are pushing for more troops, are pure and well meaning. I believe they sincerely think this is the best way forward. Three years ago, I would have agreed with them. However, at this late stage, interjecting more young American troops into the cross fire of an Iraqi civil war is simply not the right approach. We’re not going to solve an Iraqi political problem with an American military solution. In closing, regardless of how one feels about the War in Iraq, or the proposed surge in troops, as long as our American troops are in harms way, it is our duty and responsibility to support these troops 100%.May God bless our troops and our country. I yield back the balance of my time.

The Democrat's Ultimate Goal

When you appeal to force, there's one thing you must never do - lose.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

General Pertraeus has recently been endorsed by Congress to become the commander of American forces in Iraq, a job the Democrats endorsed for him with the words, "Godspeed, General." However, with their vote on Friday for a "non-binding" resolution condemning President Bush's troop surge, good Liberal Democrats again will have brain constipation and forget everything their traitorous party chiefs have said in the past. The vote for condemning the troop increase has, at least, set the Liberal agenda in Iraq. They have thrown their fortunes squarely behind an American defeat in Iraq. Historically, the Democrats have been on the wrong side of every war from Viet Nam, and several before that era. (Think Civil War.) Their cowardice and treachery have correctly given the Democrats a reputation for weakness, cowardice and pomposity in matters concerning national defense. They were the ones who incorrectly screamed that a nuclear freeze was the only path to peaceful coexistence with the Soviet Union and accused President Ronald Reagan of being a warmonger for his "peace through strength" approace every day of Reagan's presidency. The Democrats were the only prominent opponents of the 1991 Gulf War. If the Liberal Democrats had their way, Hussein would still be in Kuwait to this day, and we would be "negotiating" his withdrawal back inside Iraq's borders, leaving thousands of dead Kuwaitis behind. And, of couse, there is Clinton's foreign policy failures, everything from providing nuclear secrets to China to his failure to take bin Laden when he had the chance. All well documented historical facts. Given their sorry record to date, it's little wonder that Democrats need to claim success on a foreign affairs matter now. The only problem is, their political demands are in direct conflict with American national security interests, and to a Democrat, national security interests ALWAYS take back seat to Democrat political interests. Democrats have always thrown roadblocks in the way of American success in the war in Iraq. They have done more than support and promote measures that signal irresolution, weakness and division to America's enemies. Prominent Democrats such as Chucky Cheesy Schumer have openly declared the war in Iraq to be "unwinnable," even as terror operations in Baghdad have fallen by 80% since the Iraqi and U.S. forces have begun the new security plan, according to Iraqi army spokesman. John Murtha, that paragon of Democrat morality, is seeking to impose funding restrictions on the war, in an effort to insure defeat under the guise of "protecting the American fighting soldier." It is a treasonous and cowardly way to render U.S. success in Iraq impossible while sparing the Democrats the unpopular and openly transparent act of withholding funding for our troops in harm's way. Of course, no one knows if the increase in troop strength in Iraq will succeed---even though certain high-ranking al Quaida leaders aren't sticking around to find out---but one thing IS certain: if the Democrats have their way, the war WILL fail and the Isamofascist terrorist belief that the U.S. is too weak and decadent to defeat them will become anchored in fact. While it is becoming obvious to anyone with a living brain cell that the Democrats are inescapably aligned with America's enemies, the American people are right to be afraid of a political party that must hope for and work toward an American defeat to consolidate their power. I am afraid, however, that their treachery goes even deeper. I believe the Democrat party is solidly a Socialist party, and their final victory will be the overthrow of the American Constitutional way of government and the instigation of a true Socialist totalitarian form of government. I believe this to be their ultimate goal for each of us.

Top 10 threats to our republic

10 reasons to keep and carry in condition 1

I wish I had a dollar for every time I think to myself how shocked my Great Grandparents would be, if they were alive today, by what our country has become. As a society, we’re pathetic and weak. We’ve grown fat and lazy and we’ve had it so good and so easy for so long that our society actually teaches its children to expect everything. The majority of American citizens have absolutely no idea how bad things could get, and they’re gleefully unaware of how bad things have gotten for American citizens in the past. Unlike today, citizens in the past were perfectly willing to lay their lives on the line to keep their shining city on a hill. Today I really doubt that would be the case.

Recently, I watched a documentary on the war in the Pacific during WWII called “Hell in the Pacific”. I believe it is still running on the History Channel and if you get a chance to see it, do so. I’ve watched it twice now. It is made up of actual film clips of the Pacific campaign along with interviews from survivors (both US and Japanese) and I believe there were some historians thrown in as well. It is a no holds barred ordeal with footage of US Soldiers and Marines in Okinawa littering piles of dead and wounded Japanese with bullets before their commanding officers arrived because, as they described it (I’m paraphrasing here), “we couldn’t carry anyone back”. There were clips of surviving Japanese civilians claiming that, if the US had invaded the island of Japan, that they were perfectly willing to fight to the end and die. There was footage of civilians throwing themselves off cliffs for fear that US troops would rape and ravage them. There was footage of an Air Force pilot (I’m sorry to say I can’t remember the gentleman’s name) who was on board the Enola Gay and said that he didn’t feel sorry for what he did. He said he was glad because the Japanese were the enemy and they had brought it upon themselves. There were Soldiers and Marines that said that they hated the Japanese because they were the ENEMY. They wanted them all dead because they were sick of the damn war and they wanted to finish the job. It described the war in the Pacific for what it was, “Hell”. I was struck by how lucky we were to have people willing to do what needed to be done. I doubt that we, as a society, would have the necessary resolve today.

I believe that there are a number of things that have been slowly eroding away our society’s resolve and our will to be good citizens willing to die for our country. There are a handful of issues that have turned a once fierce tiger into a fat, tame, soft house cat ripe for the taking.

10. Public Education
Our schools have become bastions of idealism. Gone are the days of teaching little Johnny and Judith the life skills necessary to make them a productive member of society. Today, the teacher’s union assures an environment of political indoctrination without the benefit of accountability. Our kids graduate without knowing how to read or do math but they know that it’s okay to have two mommies, they know how to put on a condom, and they know that evolution is science while creation is myth.

9. Failures of our Legal System
Number 9 on my list could have easily fallen a lot closer to number 1 but they all seem important and I couldn’t really decide. Judges and lawyers are rapidly becoming the silent ruling class. If issues can’t be shoved down our throats through legislation, they’re run through the courts. There’s also that little problem about doing the crime but having enough money to hire a legal team to assure that you won't do the time. Yeah, I’m pretty sure the founding fathers didn’t see that being a problem.

8. Taxation
How many times does socialism need to fail before it becomes blatantly obvious to everyone that it just doesn’t work. A minority of producers who break their backsides to help foot the bill for those who don’t want to produce will only tolerate so much. There’s this little thing called “human nature” that determines that, once you remove the reward, the monkeys just aren’t willing to do tricks. In this day and age, if the monkeys decide to stop doing tricks, the shelves at Best Buy go bare. So my advice to the IRS, stop taking away the monkey chow so we can all watch the Super Bowl in high definition. Besides, it sure would be nice to comply with my yearly raping before April 15 and go to bed secure in the knowledge that I’ve done everything correctly.

7. Drugs and alcohol
I know I may get some heat for including this one on the list. The fact remains, our society drinks. A lot. In my opinion, it contributes to our complacency and it makes us soft, clueless, and pliable for a government all too anxious to “get some” from a populace too sloppy drunk to say no.

6. Illegal Immigration
This issue is really a product of number 1 but I thought it deserved its own place on the list. We cannot have a country without citizens and granting all of the benefits of being a citizen to illegals makes citizenship irrelevant. Send them home. No social security, no credit cards, no medical care, no lawsuits. You enter through the front door only please. You knock, you wipe your feet off on the mat, and you treat our property with the respect it has earned and deserves. Otherwise, you’re somebody else’s problem, not ours. Our jails, public schools, and places of employment are for Americans only.

5. Political Correctness
This disease has found itself climbing all the way up to number 5 on our list. Political correctness is the silent killer in our society. It is the favorite of news anchors, soccer moms, lawyers, and politicians. It is the tool that allows people to stand on their head and tell the rest of the world that they are upside down. Political correctness invades our schools, our prisons, and most disturbingly our wars. The friends of my enemy are my enemy also. Political correctness is a means to say that it is okay to be in bed with the enemy. Political correctness is being forced to lie for fear that the truth will upset someone. Political correctness is slow suicide.

4. Government Dependency
It’s been a slow, spiraling, downhill trek. I’d say that many among us never saw it coming but self accountability is an outdated term. No longer are you expected to take care of your own needs. In some cases, it is hard to tell where the needs and the wants differ and it matters little because you’re not responsible for the wants either. Pitting classes and races against one another has become a staple of the politician (again see number 1). Nobody wants the burden of self accountability and very few enjoy the benefits of self respect. Everything is a right. We have the right to this and the right to that. What happened to The Bill of Rights? Isn’t that supposed to be all we need? How about Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness? Heck no, all we need to do is hold our hand out. The government will reach into its endless coffers and give it to us if we lack the brains, brawn, or fortitude to earn it for ourselves. Disgusting…

3. Racial Issues
In this day and age, this issue is largely created by the politicians (once again see number 1). We see racial issues in everything in our society because the perceived problem allows someone to come in and create a program or a policy to help fight it. Notice I didn’t say help fix it because programs and policies never fix anything. Fixing the problem would mean an end to a program or policy and I don’t know that that has ever occurred. We need exceptions, special considerations, and exclusive holidays, contests, scholarships, and programs for those who qualify under a special racial group. We used to be Americans, now we’re African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Asian Americans. Hell, we’re even creating racial divides where race isn’t a part of the equation, i.e. Gay Americans. Pretending to remove racial differences would be pretending to remove culture. People will always adhere to culture. You cannot remove racial differences and we don’t need hero politicians to force people to pretend to accept other people that are different. You either like, accept, socialize with, hire, etc. people that are different than you or you don’t. You can’t legislate race acceptance without being racist.

2. Media
Well, the media has made it all the way up to the number 2 reason why we should all be carrying cocked and locked. There is the obvious liberal biased of the mainstream news media. That is, of course damaging to our free society and political arena of ideas. However, I think the overall concept of media, as in television, internet, radio etc. needs to be examined and blamed for a great deal of our societal ills, not just political ills. Our media places attention on so many things that are not, or should not be noteworthy. We’ve spent over a week now breathlessly examining all of the legal angles, paternity issues, sexual preferences, and questionable lifestyle practices of a whore (that would be Anna Nicole Smith) who somehow found herself a media sweetheart. This constant demand for news stories has created a media culture perfectly willing to go to any lengths to make something newsworthy. We place such an importance on people that are on television. Our athletes are criminals, our movie stars are ranting narcissists, and our musicians are looked to for political advice. The local weather man is a celebrity while the local soldier killed in combat is mentioned and then largely forgotten. We should be ASHAMED of what our society considers important. Our media has created a world that spoon feeds a daily dose of complete nonsense to a populace completely incapable of independent analysis.

1. No Leadership
At number 1, we have the leadership issue. That would be the lack of leadership from ANY of our elected officials. Elected officials have ceased being public servants. The welfare of the public is secondary to the career of the politician. The goal is to get elected, dote on the groups that helped get you elected, create as many groups (and their associated “problems”) as possible to help get you elected in the future, and somewhere down the line comes the public that actually voted you into office. The gap between the average citizen and the elected politician has become a gaping chasm. We allow our Congressman and Senators to vote in their own pay raises, and then get in bed with as many special interest groups as possible to keep them firmly entrenched in public life. They are held to a completely different set of standards when it comes to criminal behavior, drug and alcohol abuse, deviant sexual behavior, and personal financial dealings. They are far above the common man, as they live a lifestyle that is unknown to anyone outside their enclave of political bureaucracy.

Our society is made up of the enemies within, the fat and ignorant sheep that are fast asleep on America’s pile of wealth, and the rest of us painfully aware and ready for the whole freaking house to go up in flames at any moment. There are so many that are gleefully unaware of an enemy out there that is perfectly willing, like the Japanese during WWII, to fight to the very last man if necessary to eliminate our way of life. We’re taught in school that we cannot hate, we’re afraid to say anything because we might get sued, we’re too busy working to pay our taxes, we’re too drunk or stoned to notice, we’re too busy paying for health insurance for illegals, we think that hating the enemy wouldn’t be politically correct, we depend on the government to solve the problem for us, we think that hating the enemy would be racist, the media tells us we have no enemy, and our bloody politicians are too busy with their "careers" to do their jobs.

My great grandparents were true patriots, proud patriotic Americans. Actually, they lost their oldest son to the Japanese in WWII. They would be shocked at what we’ve become. Shocked and ashamed.

Keep the gun slits free of obstructions, stay healthy of body and mind, keep the family and loved ones close within the circle, and keep the firearms handy - condition 1 - cocked and locked baby. When it happens, I’m keeping this hill, and I’m not carrying anyone back.

Liberal Emotion Vs. Conservative Logic

Nations, like individuals, are punished for their transgressions.
Ulysses S. Grant

Let's face the truth. It's a lot harder to be a Conservative than a Liberal. It requires more integrity, character, courage and strength. The reason is obvious, if you think about it with a clear head, something Liberals seem unable to do. Liberalism, at it's basic elements, is really nothing more than a childish emotionalism that is applied to adult issues. To the Liberal's mind, war is mean, so we can't go to war. That person is poor, so we need to give him money. That girl can't raise a child, so let her have an abortion. Those boys are gay, so who are we to say they can't be married? I'm special, because I want to stop global warming. If we're extra nice to those terrorists, they'll like us, and won't want to kill us. Liberals are nice people who love everybody, and want to make everybody happy and feel goooooooooooood. But Conservatives? Why, they're bigots, racists, homophobes, Nazis, fascists, nasty, evil, wicked, stupid and knuckledraggers. (I have actually been called that on a Liberal blog!) Listen, when you are trying to deal with complex, adult situations, emotionalism that is designed to make you "feel good" leads to disaster instead of solving real, adult problems. Liberals never learn from their past mistakes. They just keep repeating the same mistake over and over again. That's why we throw trillions of dollars at education or poverty or ghettoes, and these problems never improve. Liberals think we need to throw more. These same principles apply to America's ability to wage war. I served in Viet Nam, and I know from first hand experience what I'm talking about. South Vietnam was policing its own country and holding off aggression from the North with the help of the United States. But, people get hurt in wars, so wars are bad. As a result of thinking that went no deeper than that, liberals in Congress cut off the aid and air support we promised the South Vietnamese. Every night, Americans turned on their TV sets, not to the atrocities committed by North Viet Nam, but body counts of American dead. The results of Liberal feelgoodism in Viet Nam? The conquest of South Vietnam, a holocaust in Cambodia, millions dead and in prison camps, another million boat people, a crisis of confidence in America, and our country's reputation around the world was left in tatters, which led to a revolution in Nicaragua, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, and a lack of faith in the U.S. military which wasn't truly restored until Operation Desert Storm. So, we're talking about one of the most shameful and damaging mistakes in American history. Yet, the left is pushing to do the same thing in Iraq, despite the fact that catastrophic consequences would surely also follow a U.S. retreat in that country. But Liberals aren't happy with interferring in just anti-war crap. Lyndon Johnson's "War on Poverty" resulted in spending trillions, that's T-r-i-l-l-i-o-n-s, on poverty, but did nothing to reduce the poverty rate. What it DID do was to help drive the illegitimacy rate among black Americans from 22% in 1960 to 70% in 2005. Liberalism ALWAYS generates the exact opposite of it's stated intent. There is no shortage of such examples.Rent control? Resulted in housing shortages. Minimum wage? Cost poor people employment opportunity. That's what happens when you put feeling good over doing what is right. Unlike Liberals, Conservatives are realists. They concern themselves with looking at the way things are, not what we would like them to be. That's why Conservatives respect traditions and institutions such as marriage and limited government. Conservatives respect and approve of things that have proven to work over a long period of time, and see no reason to change. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Conservatives are not against change, because progress revolves around change, but the concept of tinkering with proven concepts creates a more likely chance that they will quit working. Conservatives regularly do something that liberals seldom do: they consider the long-term consequences of their policies. Sometimes in politics, that's a tough duty. It's always easier to say, "We're going to use someone else's tax money to give you this right now," than it is to say, "We're going to keep government out of your way and let you do this for yourself." But, that's the path conservatives have chosen for themselves. They’re willing to be attacked and called, in some form or fashion, "mean" in order to advocate policies that are good for the country. In the end, that's what liberalism versus conservatism all comes down to: sappy, feel good emotionalism that sounds appealing, but doesn't work versus doing things the right way, even when it's not easy.

Who Is Joseph Onek? Ask Nancy Pelosi!

"In landing operations, retreat is impossible, to surrender is as ignoble as it is foolish… above all else remember that we as attackers have the initiative, we know exactly what we are going to do, while the enemy is ignorant of our intentions and can only parry our blows. We must retain this tremendous advantage by always attacking rapidly, ruthlessly, viciously, and without rest."
General George S. Patton

Joseph Onek, a former Open Society Institute lawyer, has just been hired to become Senior Counsel to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Onek's association with the Open Society Institute should be of great interest to every American who is not a treasonous Democrat. OSI is the flagship organization to bring about radical social change in our society of none other than George Soros. Open Society Institute is responsible for infusing millions of dollars into various leftist causes, including euthanasia, open borders, abortion, homosexual activism, marijuana legalization, the undermining of our nation's war on terrorism and other neo-Marxist ideals of "social justice." Go to "discoverthenetworks.org" for a complete list of OSI's grantees. You will find a list of every anti-American, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual group presently active in America today. Washington today is a Manchurian Candidate story come true. The fact that a Socialist/nutjob like George Soros having one of his operatives in such a high position with the Speaker of the House should give every patriotic American cold sweats at night. Did Onek get this position with Pelosi through the influence of Soros? Has Onek been given the task of directly influencing policy decisions? And, most importantly, what role does Onek still play in Soros' ultimate plans? Our government is in the throes of upheaval, and we are witnessing a silent revolution. Our entire form of government is being perverted, and we are standing around like dumb oxen and silently allowing our nation to be stolen from us. We can't wait for a real Conservative to come to bat for us, because there AREN'T any left. The Democrat party's sole interest today is to overthrow the American political system, and turn America into a Socialist "paradise." The Republican party's sole interest is doing everything possible to ensure they are re-elected so they can maintain what little power and luxurious lifestyle they have left. Democrats are ruthless in their pursuit of power and conforming America into a Socialist Workers Paradise. Republicans are spineless, sobbing cretins who are interested in their own problems, not the welfare of America. We are in deep, deep trouble. Wake up people. We are in a revolution, and we are losing the war and we don't even know the enemy is shooting at us. The fact that George Soros is still alive and well in America without being incarcerated in a maximum security prison tells us a lot about our present plight.

"I'm Joe Kennedy, And Help Is On The Way!"

Lack of discipline has destroyed many people before now.
Xenophon

Relations between Venezuela and the United States has rapidly deteriorated recently, with the strongarm dictator Hugo Chavez going so far as to call our President "the devil." But all that is irrelevant to Joe Kennedy. Advertisements presently airing shows Joe standing on an oil rig in Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela, saying, "Heating oil at 40 percent off from our friends at Venezuela and CITGO. Call me at Citizens Energy. No one should be left out in the cold." Here we have proof positive that Liberals consider Socialist dictators their friends. Fortunately, Representative Connie Mack (R-FL), calling Chavez "the most dangerous man in the Western Hemisphere," wrote a scathing letter to Joey. "Chavez is a sworn enemy of the United States. there is absolutely no excuse for you to be praising him in television commercials and media interviews for any reason whatsoever. More than 40 years ago, your uncle - President John F. Kennedy - spoke about the perils of communism in the Western Hemisphere and the threats posed by Fidel Castro, saying: 'We and our Latin friends will have to face the fact that we cannot postpone any longer the real issue of survival of freedom in this hemisphere itself,' " Mack noted. "Those words still ring true today," he added. Stephanie DuBois, a spokesperson for Mack, said the letter was sparked by the fact that CITGO, a Houston-based oil company owned by the Venezuelan government, is providing heating oil at a 40 percent discount to Citizens Energy Corporation, which Kennedy founded in 1979 and heads as chairman and president. "No one should be left out in the cold," Kennedy concludes the ad. Kennedy responded with a letter of his own late Monday. "I appreciate your interest, however misguided your conclusions may be, regarding our efforts to provide low-cost heating oil to thousands of low-income people, whose federal fuel benefits, by the way, you voted to cut by over $1 billion just a few months ago. If, in fact, your objection to our program is the politics of President Chavez and the actions that he's taken - which you feel threaten our democracy - I would suggest you hold all 558 million barrels of oil we import annually from Venezuela to the same moral standard and not just the small slice we provide at a discount to the poor." I would like to remind the benevolent Mr. Kennedy that he and his party has voted repeatedly against drilling for oil here in our own country. Could his dealings with Citizen's Energy Corporation have any bearing on his past voting record? Are any other Democrat leaders involved with this corporation? We will do some digging...stay tuned...Just what is Kennedy's relationship to Chavez, and did they sign a contract requiring Kennedy to say and do certain things in his commercials to get the heating oil? Just how many Democrats are there that are making money off their refusal to allow us to drill for our own oil, anyway? Treasonous rats.

The Real Inconvenient Truth That Gore Doesn't Want You To Know

Remember upon the conduct of each depends the fate of all.
Alexander the Great

The United Nations has issued a report recently that states global warming is man-made and we humans are responsible for soon reducing the earth to a charred cinder. But Marc Morano, communications director with the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, claims the "scientific" report is a lie. During his appearance on Fox News, Morano said, The first thing you have to realize is that what the U.N. came out with is not a scientific document, it is a political document approved by U.N. political delegates. The media has been reporting around the world that thousands of scientists have gotten together and this is their report. That is not the case. This is not thousands of scientists speaking, this is hundreds of U.N. bureaucrats and delegates speaking. The New York Times last year in April said that "few scientists agree that any recent weather events including Katrina, drought or floods are due to man-made global warming. There's nothing they can point to that's outside natural variability.” When Gibson brought up the threat from Jacques Chirac of France that the European Union would heavily tax American exports to Europe if the U.S. doesn’t fall into line with the Kyoto Protocol – which dictates limits on the emission of greenhouse gases – Morano responded. “It's the same Jacques Chirac who called Kyoto the first step to authentic global governance in 2000. That gives you an idea of the agenda behind it and Jacques Chirac is threatening the U.S. The odd thing about it is, 13 of the 15 EU nations aren't meeting the requirements of Kyoto and the EU nations’ emissions are rising twice as fast as the U.S. The U.S. is actually doing better even though we haven't ratified Kyoto. But they're trying to make the U.S. out to be the evil boogieman in the world.” Meanwhile, one leading scientist is placing the blame for global warming on another “culprit” – the sun. Israeli astrophysicist Dr. Nir Shaviv, who has made a name for himself studying meteorites, said, “Solar activity can explain a large part of the 20th-century global warming.” In remarks reported by Canada’s National Post, Dr. Shaviv stated that much evidence has been accumulating over the past decade of the strong relationship that variations in the sun’s cosmic-ray emissions have on our atmosphere – so much evidence that “it is unlikely that [the solar-climate link] does not exist.” In his study of meteorites, published in the prestigious journal Physical Review Letters, Dr. Shaviv found that some meteorites reaching the earth sustained up to 10 percent more cosmic-ray damage than others. That kind of cosmic-ray variation, he believes, could alter global temperatures by as much as 15 percent – enough to begin or end an ice age. In other news, The Weather Channel’s Heidi Cullen, who hosts the weekly global warming program "The Climate Code," is advocating that the American Meteorological Society (AMS) revoke their "Seal of Approval" for any television weatherman who expresses skepticism that human activity is creating a climate catastrophe. "If a meteorologist can't speak to the fundamental science of climate change, then maybe the AMS shouldn't give them a Seal of Approval. Clearly, the AMS doesn't agree that global warming can be blamed on cyclical weather patterns," Cullen wrote in her December 21 weblog on the Weather Channel Website. Cullen’s call for decertification of TV weathermen who do not agree with her global warming assessment follows a year (2006) in which the media, Hollywood and environmentalists tried their hardest to demonize scientific skeptics of manmade global warming. Scott Pelley, CBS News 60 Minutes correspondent, compared skeptics of global warming to "Holocaust deniers" and former Vice President turned foreign lobbyist Al Gore has repeatedly referred to skeptics as "global warming deniers." TV weathermen skeptical of climate alarmism have -- up until now -- been unburdened to speak out on climate issues. Cullen’s call for decertification by the AMS can only serve to intimidate skeptics and further chill free speech in the scientific community. Stripping the "Seal of Approval" from broadcast meteorologists could affect their livelihoods, impact their salaries and prestige. TV weathermen are truly the last of the independent scientists and past surveys have shown many of them to be skeptical of manmade global warming claims. Their independence is being threatened now. Intimidating scientists with calls for death trials, name calling and calls for decertification appears to be the accepted tactics of the climate alarmists. The real question is: Why do climate alarmists feel the need to resort to such low brow tactics when they have a compliant media willing to repeat their every assertion without question? MONEY. Just how much money do the climate alarmists have at their disposal? There was a $3 billion donation to the global warming cause from Virgin Air’s Richard Branson alone. The well-heeled environmental lobbying groups have massive operating budgets compared to groups that express global warming skepticism. The Sierra Club Foundation 2004 budget was $91 million and the Natural Resources Defense Council had a $57 million budget for the same year. Compare that to the often media derided Competitive Enterprise Institute’s small $3.6 million annual budget. In addition, if a climate skeptic receives any money from industry, the media immediately labels them and attempts to discredit their work. The same media completely ignore the money flow from the environmental lobby to climate alarmists like James Hansen and Michael Oppenheimer. (ie. Hansen received $250,000 from the Heinz Foundation and Oppenheimer is a paid partisan of Environmental Defense Fund) The alarmists have all of these advantages, yet they still feel the need to resort to desperation tactics to silence the skeptics. Could it be that the alarmists realize that the American public is increasingly rejecting their proposition that the family SUV is destroying the earth and rejecting their shrill calls for "action" to combat their computer model predictions of a "climate emergency?" That may be the real Inconvenient Truth. After all, even the UN is reportedly downgrading man’s impact on the climate by 25% and now concedes that cow "emissions" are more damaging to the planet than C02 from cars. Let's face the truth. The idea that global warming is destroying the earth has about as much basis in fact as the Dixie Chicks earning numerous awards.

History Is Repeatable

The outcome of the war is in our hands; the outcome of words is in the council.
Homer

Tehran, Iran, Apr. 14 2006 President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad:
“The Zionist regime is a dried up and rotten tree which will be annihilated with one storm”, Ahmadinejad said at a conference in Tehran dubbed “International Conference of Holy Qods and Support for the Rights of the Palestinian Nation”. The radical president who in December called for Israel to be “wiped off the map” said on Friday that the Jewish state was “heading towards annihilation”.

Februarry 11, 2007, Iran:
Ali Larijani, speaking at a forum that gathered the world's top security officials, said Iran doesn't have aggressive intentions toward any nation. "That Iran is willing to threaten Israel is wrong," Larijani said. "We pose no threat and if we are conducting nuclear research and development we are no threat to Israel. We have no intention of aggression against any country."

Neville Chamberlain, 1939:
"However much we may sympathize with a small nation confronted by a big and powerful neighbor, we cannot in all circumstances undertake to involve the whole British Empire in war simply on her account. If we have to fight it must be on larger issues than that. I am myself a man of peace to the depths of my soul. Armed conflict between nations is a nightmare to me; but if I were convinced that any nation had made up its mind to dominate the world by fear of its force, I should feel that it must be resisted. Under such a domination life for people who believe in liberty would not be worth living; but war is a fearful thing, and we must be very clear, before we embark upon it, that it is really the great issues that are at stake, and that the call to risk everything in their defense, when all the consequences are weighed, is irresistible. For the present I ask you to await as calmly as you can the events of the next few days. As long as war has not begun, there is always hope that it may be prevented, and you know that I am going to work for peace to the last moment. Good night."

Chamberlain holds the paper containing the resolution to commit to peaceful methods signed by both Hitler and himself on his return from Germany at Croydon Airport in September 1938. He said:
My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time.

September 3, 1939.
In Chamberlain's radio broadcast to the nation, he noted:
This morning the British Ambassador in Berlin handed the German Government a final note stating that, unless we hear from them by 11 o'clock that they were prepared at once to withdraw their troops from Poland, a state of war would exist between us. I have to tell you now that no such undertaking has been received, and that consequently this country is at war with Germany.
You can imagine what a bitter blow it is to me that all my long struggle to win peace has failed. Yet I cannot believe that there is anything more, or anything different, that I could have done, and that would have been more successful... We have a clear conscience, we have done all that any country could do to establish peace, but a situation in which no word given by Germany's ruler could be trusted, and no people or country could feel themselves safe, had become intolerable... Now may God bless you all and may he defend the right. For it is evil things that we shall be fighting against, brute force, bad faith, injustice, oppression, and persecution. And against them I am certain that the right will prevail.

Following the debacle of the British expedition to Norway, Chamberlain found himself under siege in the House of Commons. During the Norway Debate of May 7, Leo Amery–who had been one of Chamberlain's personal friends–delivered a devastating indictment of Chamberlain's conduct of the war. In concluding his speech, he quoted the words of Oliver Cromwell to the Long Parliament:
"You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go".

Sir Winston Churchill, Radio speech, 1941
Here is the answer which I will give to President Roosevelt... We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire. Neither the sudden shock of battle nor the long-drawn trials of vigilance and exertion will wear us down. Give us the tools and we will finish the job.

Hillary Clinton reminiscing about the warm welcome New Hampshire voters had given the Clintons in 1992:
"The only thing I will try to do differently from my husband is not to make so many Dunkin' Donuts stops."

Fashion Sense

In light of the recent fashion advice given to "her filthiness" by designer Donatella Versace, I thought I would bring back an oldie but goodie. I think this is probably more in line with the look she's been after.

Islamic Invocation at Dem's National Committee Meeting has Consequences

Robert Spencer, one of the America's foremost experts on Islam, says members of the Democratic National Committee may have been ignorant what the words meant when an Islamic imam recently gave the invocation at the party's 2007 winter meeting. One of the nation's leading experts on the Islamic religion says those in attendance at the Democratic National Committee's 2007 winter meeting were apparently unaware of what an Islamic imam was really saying when he gave the invocation. Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watch, a project of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, says the imam from a Shiite Muslim mosque in Dearborn, Michigan, essentially asked Allah to assist in converting the party members to Islam. But "because they don't know anything about Islam," says Spencer, those at the meeting do not realize the words used by the iman "don't mean the same thing to non-Muslims that they mean to Muslims -- and this is what fools them." According to Spencer, the imam spoke of being guided to a "straight path," which -- to a Muslim -- is the path of Islam. Explaining further, he says in traditional Islamic theology it is the Jews who have incurred God's anger and the Christians who have gone astray, and both must be guided to that "straight path." Spencer says the DNC is obsessed with multi-culturalism. He suggests it is highly unlikely that the Democrats would have asked a Christian to deliver the invocation at their meeting. But he says it is even more unlikely that they would have remained silent if the Christian leader had spoken as the imam did.
